All things are possible. Let the user beware. I don't
know Cara Meltzer and know nothing about this handyman.
I appreciate John Wheeler's looking into this.

Kathy, I know you don't vouch for any listings, but I've come to rely
more upon your listings than postings to such Yahoo groups as
Tenleytown. However, this one doesn't ring true. No address or
neighborhood or telephone number for the poster is given. A quick
Google search didn't turn up a "Cara Meltzer" in DC. I suspect this
message is just advertisement.

About the DC Community Heritage Project

The most important resource for the preservation of Washington, D.C.'s
stories and heritage is the city's residents. The DC Community Heritage
Project, a program of the Humanities Council of Washington, DC and the
DC Historic Preservation Office, supports people who want to tell the
stories of their neighborhoods and communities by providing information,
training and financial resources.

Since 2005, the Humanities Council in collaboration with the DC Historic
Preservation Office has hosted symposia with grass-roots
preservationists along with other stakeholders such as city planners,
developers, and tourism marketers to continue to formulate a
preservation model that places the power, resources, and leadership for
neighborhood and community preservation efforts in the hands of the
local residents.

This posting appeared on other neighborhood yahoo! group listserves
throughout the city. In addition, I've used these guys (a couple of
years ago). I did NOT have a good experience.
