Kathy, Tomorrow I will call the Union hall for the DCFD to get the
address for Hero's Inc. It would be a great thing if anyone had
some
extra cash to share with the families of the New York Firemen and
Policemen. Remember, it is only by the Grace of God that it was
not our
fire and police that were caught in such devastation but also know
that
each of these firemen here are affected both directly and indirectly
by
this tragedy. Many have brothers and friends that are NYFD and
are
still not aware of their whereabouts.
FYI-On a personal note, Dennis went into work yesterday, his day off,
without waiting to be called. He secured our house, made sure
that our
son was home and safe and said goodbye. I am very proud of him
and all
of those DC Fire and Police that made it to work yesterday.

Kathy, I just found out that NYFD does not participate in Hero's
Inc.
and incredibly
they do not have any charity such as this one. However, I did
get the
address from the Union:
Hero's Inc.

**** Fwd: FW: "Flags Across America"
From: [email protected]
From: "Miller, Cheryl" <[email protected]>
Pass this along folks...
To show those terrorists that we Americans stick together, FRIDAY
SEPTEMBER 14 is "Flags Across America." All Americans are asked
to
display the American flag either in their homes or cars. Let's keep
the
meaning of UNITED in "United States". Pass this onto as many
people as
you know. THANK YOU.
**** Subject: Fwd: Candle Lighting
From: [email protected]
(This same notice was sent to me by several neighbors, including
Christopher Lively, Martha Clapper, Tom Bethell, Carolyn Long, and
Brian
Hanlon - KS)
Another opportunity to do a small thing at a time of feeling helpless.
As someone has said, It's better to light a candle than curse the
darkness.
Friday Night (9/14/01) at 7:00 p.m. step out your door, stop your car,
or step out of your establishment and light a candle.
We will show
the world that Americans are strong and united together
against
terrorism. The message: WE STAND UNITED - WE WILL
NOT TOLERATE
TERRORISM. We need press to cover this-- we need the world to
see.
