Marijuana has been used to thousands of years with the first recorded use over five thousand years ago. Today it is used both medicinally and as a recreational drug with the latter being the far more often use of the drug. Marijuana gives the user a euphoric feeling, relaxation, increased appetite and combined with its pain relief capabilities it is a useful treatment for many aliments. The legalization of Marijuana by the Canadian government would be a tremendous step in the right direction and all together beneficial for the taxpayers and the end users in every sense. By decreasing the black market and crime and decreasing the police and court costs. It would also give the government surplus money from taxing the purchase of the drug and would also increase the quality if they were to oversee the cultivation and sale of it. Additionally with the rising costs of health care, the cost of using marijuana for certain patients can be cheaper then using possibly harmful pharmaceutical drugs.
