Promotion Guide

The following is a guide to how promotions work.

Officer Ranks  Ensign
 Lieutenant JG
 Lieutenant
 Lt. Commander
 Commander
 Commander 1st Class
Ranks between Ensign and Commander 1st Class are awarded purely on the basis of points scored in the trivia.
Once a rank of Lieutenant Commander has been reached, you will be eligible to take the role of first officer of a ship, should one become available to you.
Command Ranks  Captain The rank of Captain is awarded to officers that are in possession of a ship and have completed the command training course. People that have not completed the course will not be promoted to captain. They must have also achieved the rank of Commander.
 

Flag ranks

Promotion through these ranks is not automatic, and will require outstanding work in the field and are awarded with the discretion of the command staff.

 Commodore The rank of commodore is awarded to officers that have fulfilled all the criteria of being Captain, and are in command of a squadron of ships.
Other Captains can be promoted to the rank of Commodore if they have served S47 for more than a year and fill a hold a position in the management side of Section 47.
 Rear Admiral The rank of Rear Admiral may be bestowed upon any officer that has reached the position of Commodore and has served Section 47 with distinction for over a year.
 Vice Admiral Any Rear Admiral, that is elevated to a position of commanding officer of a fleet, or to a command staff post.
 Admiral The position of Admiral is awarded to officers that have served the command staff well for a long period of time.
 Fleet Admiral An admiral may be promoted to the rank of Fleet Admiral only after serving Section 47 with extremely dedicated service, and first having served as an Admiral.
 Section Admiral The Section Admiral is the highest rank that can be achieved in Section 47. They will have servered as a member of the command staff before assuming this command rank.
