Harry
Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
I have to admit: It was
a bit disappointing. Even though they made an effort to squeeze in this
wonderfully written story in a 3hr movie, still, they failed to fill in the
holes that made the book such a unique read. The film didn't explain a lot
of things to the viewers maybe because they thought everyone had read the
book. An ordinary viewer would think the words, "Moony, Padfoot, Wormtail
and Prongs" are insignificant. But if you've read the book, you'll know they
play a much greater role in this 3rd story. They were so in to the new
filming techniques and special effects that they somehow "forgot" how the
storyline goes. Sorry to say but the film lost most of its magic because of
the poor delivery of the story. On the other hand, it was brought up by the
humorous scenes the director placed in. The special effects (particularly
the makings of the dementor as well as the set) also worked. Oh well even
though the movie didn't fully satisfy me, I respect its decision to shift to
a new director. It's interesting to see life at Hogwarts from a different
point of view. |

Shrek 2
This film, for me, is
funnier than the first. I must admit that the plot was a bit forgettable.
Though they got back on the unexpected scenes, which contributed to the
humor, in between each dilemma. Though most of their scenes were copied
from other movies, it just amazes me how they were able pull off a supposed
to be a predictable movie to a very unique one. The characters for this film
were okay... esp. Puss hehehe. Other than that, there was nothing
extra-ordinary if you know what I mean. So, should you watch it? (if
it's still in Cinemas) Well, if you want a good laugh, then do so. No one's
stopping you. ;) |
