I was 15 when I decided that I should take a year off from dating, or at least that's what I thought I was going to do. I thought, well, that will be easy enough since I can't date until I'm 16 anyways. Well, God had a different plan in mind for me. After I had told my mom about my commitment she told me about a message my older brother had heard when he went to a youth group meeting. The youth pastor challenged them not to date during their teen years as a way for giving God 10% tithe of their life. I decided that that plan would be a good idea for me.
I do not regret the promise I made to God 2 years ago. I find dating in high school not worth the time, effort, or the heartache. Though my plan is not for everyone, I would still suggest it to you anyway. I have also recently decided that I should not date until I know that God wants me to and that I should keep my kisses for the altar. There are times when I think that I will never be able to keep these promises that I have made, and that the temptations will be hard to resist, but I know that God will not give me a temptation that I will not be able to handle.

Another bit of information that you might need to know that is that I moved to Honduras, Central America 2 years ago with my family. I have had a hard time making friends and stuff like that, but I know that this is exactly where God wants me to be, even though I don't understand why.
