| Born in Germany back in '72, I've spent the better part of my life in Canada as your typical Canadian - although I'm certainly no lumberjack (nor do I live in an igloo). I love this country more than anyone could imagine (for reasons explained further on), and I guess if I were to choose one striking feature about this beautiful country of mine, it wouldn't be its cultural diversity or its expansive geography. Rather, it would have to be the excellent collection of microbreweries managed by nothing less than internationally-renowned beer experts! Like most Canadians, I love to travel. Perhaps it's my interest in getting to know how other pockets of the world operate. Or perhaps it's my inevitable desire to get away from the "neutral" (though much appreciated) way of life commonly found in Canada. One thing's for certain though ... diversity is out there, and with this new global economy, cultural sensitivity continues to grow in importance as a skill necessary both on the international and domestic levels. |

| I spent three of my high school years in the 'States - Kansas to be precise, and don't ask me why. I then moved to Ottawa to complete my undergrad degree. The poor economic climate when I finished school, along with the fact that I had no idea what I was going to do with my life found me in Singapore. Without any intention of staying for the five years that I stayed, I ended up working for a wonderful company in the marine transportation industry. I traveled all over the South East Asian region during this time for purposes of business and leisure, and came to the realization that, hey!, not everyone's like me. More importantly, I also came to the realization that Canada is, indeed, a wealthy country (it's funny how one can so easily take for granted even that which is so priceless). My homeland finally beckoned me back, and I ended up pursuing a graduate degree at the Richard Ivey School of Business (UWO). In between these two years, I spent my summer in South America learning Spanish, traveling, and trying to find out what I was going to do for the rest of my life...again. And again, during these travels, I appreciated being a Canadian. After having completed my MBA, I now find myself working in the business development department for Canadian Pacific Railway doing what I do best...market development within the logistics industry. Essentially, I'm a kid playing with trains all day. I believe I'll continue in this field as I absolutely love what I do. Furthermore, CP Rail is a fantastic company...full of bright people, excellent management, a relatively good vision. Back in August, I met a wonderful and amazing woman named Amy. She and I intend to get married very soon...perhaps raise a few kids. One thing's for sure, we'll be raising at least one come October. On the 7th of February, 2001, we found out that she was expecting. A little unplanned? You bet! Unwanted? No way! We're very much in love with each other and intend to be the best parents a kid could ever have. At this point in our lives...I doubt we could be happier. Then again, as the days go by, I continue to find myself waking up with a bigger smile than the night before. The end of this condensed version of my life story leads me to where I am today which subsequently results in the end of my little intro. Come on in and meet the mother of my kid. Or play around with Checkers for a bit. Sports, traveling, work, and a whole slew of my other interests are what you'll find inside. So come on in, leave your mark in my guest book, and feel free to contact me - at the very least, I've been told that I make a very entertaining e-mail buddy. Oh...and don't forget to fix yourself a drink through my online bartender... |
