Units

GDI Minigunner
Description
Versatile, resourceful, and tough, this GDI soldier is much more than your average grunt. Privates carry the standard AR7 Condor chain gun, but others are trained extensively in different weapon types and combat disciplines, making them the most flexible units on the battlefield. Thus, the Minigunner officer may be the most common GDI unit, but he's also one of the most indispensable, as crucial in highly orchestrated assaults as he is for emergency defense. Minigunner officers are mentally equipped as well; these soldiers are trained to keep their cool during tense combat situations.

GDI Grenader
Description:
The Grenadier is a specialized, highly-motivated infantry unit. Entrusted with the standard-issue Kestrel grenade launcher, Grenadiers are often deployed immediately behind frontline minigunners and grunts to lend suppressive fire support and to punch holes through fortified enemy emplacements with their high-explosive rounds. Friendly troops - including free-wheeling commandos - would do well to know the whereabouts and activities of nearby Grenadier teammates; collateral damage and friendly fire from Grenadiers is a constant concern out on the battlefield.

Chemical Warrior
Description:
Nod Black Hand soldiers who undergo higher-level weapons training are often promoted to Chem-warriors, a veritable chemical war machine in infantry form. These soldiers wield V2 "Venom" model Chemical Distributors, which spray lethal streams of highly volatile Tiberium compound. The weapon is based on a non-combat model used to to spray Tiberium fields with fertilizing chemicals. Deadly misuse of this model in the Tiberium fields inspired Nod scientists to modify the sprayer for combat use.

Flamethrower
Description:
Armed with a tank of gas on his back, the Nod Flamethrower Soldier is an effective infantry killer. Since it has light armour it can be killed easily and isnt very effective against tanks, but it is effective against buildings and turns infantry into well done steaks.

Engineer
Description
Armed with a wrench and C4, the Engineer is a very important unit. It can repair units and buildings, disable C4 and beacons, and has his own special C4 to level enemy buildings. Its weak point is the fact that it has light armour and can be killed easily.

NOD Cargo Plane
Description:
This airborne carrier transports Nod supplies, vehicles and infantry to bases and hotspots throughout the world. Slow and unarmed, the C-130 can absorb a tremendous amount of damage and is the ideal platform for 'touch-n-go' dropoffs on short airfields. During multiplayer games, purchased Nod vehicles are delivered to the airstrip via lumbering C-130s - a most impressive sight!

Hummer
Description
An aggressive attack vehicle refined by GDI engineers, the Hum-Vee is armed with a machine gun mount, making it perfect for routing infantry or taking out lightly armored targets. Its lack of armor makes it highly vulnerable to explosive weaponry, however, so "creative" driving may be required.

Recon Bike
Description:
Nods hit and run vehicle, the Recon Bike is lightly armoured but what it lacks in armour it makes up in speed. Armed with 2 rocket launchers it is effective against light armour, but heavy tanks turn it into scrap metal. The Recon Bike can shoot air with its rockets as well.

NOD Buggy
Description:
This versatile all-terrain vehicle is as deadly as it is fast, boasting a machine gun turret for shoot-and-run tactics. To keep the buggy light on its wheels, it sports minimal armor, and is best used against infantry and other lightly armored targets.

Hover Craft
Description:
This heavily armored transport craft was developed to allow for amphibious assaults when enemy land defenses prove too entrenched. For GDI Captain Nick Parker, that means taking the scenic route to perform a back-door assault on the Nod regime. And with Parker behind the wheel, you can be sure he'll give "smoke on the water" a whole new meaning.

Harvestor
Description:
An armor-plated behemoth designed to scoop up raw, volatile Tiberium, the harvester is slow and clumsy. However, its usefulness for steamrolling whole platoons of Nod soldiers is not to be underestimated. Hey, if you can't shoot 'em, squish 'em.

Light Tank
The Nod Light Tank is a cheap, effective anti-armour tank. It has light armour and is a bit faster then its counterpart, the GDI Medium Tank. It is Nods primary assault tank and fits into a multi-role unit.

Medium Tank
Description:
The backbone of GDI armour, the Medium Tank is excellent at the anti-armour role yet is isn't as effective against infantry. As its name states, it has medium armour and is an excellent tank in many aspects.

APC
Description
Getting troops to the front line quickly is important to secure victory, this is where the APC comes into play. Lightly armoured and armed only with a machine gun, the APC is nonetheless an important vehicle due to the fact it can carry 5 soldiers into the front lines of battle quickly and safely.

Stealth Tank
Description
What you cant see CAN hurt you. The Nod Stealth Tank cannot be seen, until it fires, but by then its too late. It is armed with a rocket launcher and has light armour. Its most effective when you sneak into the back of the base and level it into the ground.

Flame Tank
Description:
When GDI soldiers see the Flame Tank over the horizon, they run in fear. The Flame Tank is the ultimate infantry killer. Armed with 2 flamethrowers and heavy armour it can stand up to medium armour, but takes a while to fry tanks to a crisp, and it turns infantry into fried chicken.

Mammoth Tank
Description:
No machine on the battlefield inspires as much awe as the GDI Mammoth Tank. Twice the weight of a fully-loaded harvester, this tracked beast towers above nearly every ground unit, a factor that often acts more as a deterrent to war rather than an invitation. Employing 2 enormous 36" cannons powered by atomic generators, the Mammoth Tank shrugs off all but the mightiest assaults and delivers sustained onslaughts against both fortified and unarmored enemy forces. The only apparent drawback to the Mammoth design is its lack of speed, which allows infrequent overunning by opponents of significant numbers. This limitation aside, there's always an extra twinkle in Havoc's eye when he spots a usable Mammoth Tank in the warzone.

Orca
Description
The best in GDI technology, Orca VTOL aircraft are armed with rockets and have good armour. Best used in large groups, there aircraft can take of structures and tanks with ease, but against infantry its another story. Orcas are vulnerable to SAM sites and anti aircraft units.

Apache
Description
Nods Apache attack helicopter is armed with a machine gun, and other than the Orca, it is effective against infantry, but not as effective against tanks. Like the Orca, it has good armour and is vulnerable to Advanced Guard Towers.

Gun Boat
Description:
If there are defences around the beachhead before your invasion, the Gunboat is the one that clears them out. With heavy armour and missile launchers, this boat is an excellent way to clear a path for an amphibious invasion. It isnt buildable nor is it controllable.
