Zack was born eighteen years before Yavin on Corellia, he was born to a poor family of two children and a father. His mother died during birth. Growing up without a mother Zack got into a lot of trouble with local gangs, many times he would end up in a cell in the nearby CorSec Area Headquarters. Over time though Zack learned to stay out of such trouble and soon fell in love. During their relationship Zack and Sara stuck together through thick and thin, however one fateful morning it was shattered. The two of them were taking a drive through the country side of Corellia when a landslide struck the speeders engines destroying the repulsors and crushing both Sara and Zack. Zack survived the accident with major injuries, Sara was not so lucky, she had survived the accident itself, but was too badly injured and had lost too much blood to keep herself going she died the next day. After the accident Zack couldn't forgive himself for not sacrificing himself for her, he decided to end his life the only(honorable) way he knew how, he joined the Corellian Security Forces, but for some reason he would not die, he finally somehow earned his second level bloodstripes when he was forced to throw himself infront of a blaster shot for a young child who got in the way of a fire fight. He again survived the almost deadly wound which punctured his left lung.
Finally, Zack realized after recieving the second level stripes that maybe he shouldn't continue with ending his own life but devote it to saving others, it would be what Sara wanted after all. He would die soon enough, but he needed to fulfill his destiny first. After five years in CorSec Zack left and joined up with the Rebel Alliance, after only three months in the Alliance Army, Zack was transferred to General Rieekan's Command. Two and a Half months later the base at Hoth was established and he was a member of the original scouting team, and later being transferred to Base Defense, Zack was at the forfront of the Battle of Hoth, he had been told that there was an extra snowspeeder that needed to be flown and that Rogue Squadron had all it's members in the air. Zack and a fellow Private took the Airspeeder and flew against the enemy AT-ATs, this is where he proved his worth to the Alliance Starfighter Corps. Attacking one of the back AT-ATs the airspeeder was struck by a low level blast from the AT-AT it burnt out the heaters on the speeder that kept it from freezing in the cold weather. The Air speeder began to choke up and freeze, Zack urged the dieing speeder to keep going, he successful tangled up the AT-AT's legs and brought it to the ground using the tow cable. Just as the AT-AT went down though the engine quit, somehow Zack had known it was coming when it did. The two crewmates jumped out of the cockpit and the speeder flew out of control into an enemy AT-ST. Zack looked at his friend, blood was gushing from his head, he had hit his head of a piece of ice coming down and was dead. Zack felt as if he should kill himself once more but remembered his pledge. Getting up he ran back towards the base, just in time to board a small Lambda-class Shuttle taking off from the base. When he arrived at the Nebulon-B Medical Frigate, Zack was given somewhat of a heros welcome, he had helped Rogue Squadron in defending against the Imperial Attack and was given a Medal of Courage for his work, he was also given a flight patch for the Battle of Hoth to go with his new flight suit. Zack was transferred to the Starfighter Corps soon after and was assigned to the Rebel Cruiser, Home One, he flew an X-wing Starfighter in Green Group. Six months later he was informed that he would be part of the attack force against the Second Death Star. His Starfighter Corps rank was Lieutenant and he had already participated in several Raids on Imperial supply depots, it was now time to bring the War to the Empire. Endor was his proving grounds, during the battle his flight group came under attack by a squadron of TIE Interceptors, his two wingmen were killed in dogfights but Zack successfully drew them into the shields of an Imperial Star Destroyer, and finished off the remaining two Interceptors in dogfights. When his scanners began reading that the Death Stars shields were down he immediately assumed he was one of the few left to engage to massive super weapon but then he saw the Millenium Falcon and Wedge Antilles X-wing fly past and towards the Death Star he realized he need not engage it, instead he turned his aim on an Imperial Star Destroyer, he formed up with the rest of his group and they engaged the ship, the four X-wings didn't seem as if they had a chance against the mammoth wedge shape Cruiser, but earlier bombardment of the vessel by B-wings had taken out most of the shielding. He lead the new flight group in a bombing run and they finished off the shields with laser cannons by destroying the generator globes, he then turned down on the bridge launching two Proton Torpedos through the bridge the tower exploded in a massive fir ball taking out another of the X-wings. The weapons fire stopped and they continued pounding it with proton torpedos until the reactor went critical and the ship became engulfed in flames and rammed into another Imperial Star Destroyer. The two remaining X-wings(Zack included) now becoming dangerously low on fuel followed the Rebel Fleet in a retreat from the Death Star. They met up with Wedge as he was joining up with the fleet. Several seconds later the Falcon burned out of the Death Star and the massive super weapon exploded. After the battle Zack recieved a second Medal of Courage and a flight patch for Endor, his heavily damaged X-wing was sent to the repair bay and the new found Alliance Pilot was born, he felt proud to be in the Alliance. A day after Endor he was brought before Admiral Ackbar, he was to assist in the Battle at Bakura. He flew in the battle better than most of the Vetern Pilots, and again he was rewarded with a flight patch for Bakura.
After Endor and Bakura, Zack was given command of a fighter squadron, and was promoted to the Rank of Commander. He commanded the fighter squadron during most of the War for Coruscant and took command of an Elite Fighter Squadron not long afterwards giving command of the older squadron to a fellow Commander. This new Elite squadron was called Krayt Squadron, as commander of the squadron he flew during several of the battles against Warlord Zsinj.
Zack has recently resigned from the dieing Republic's Starfighter Corps and is working on plans for again building an elite Republic Force. Little too his own knowledge, Zack will soon face his destiny, and become what his father declined to tell him....a Jedi Knight.
