Are you tired of the typical movie and a dinner thing? Well here is an alternative. Break out the dancing shoes and get ready to groove. We are about to go on a tour of some of Knoxville's Night Clubs and Music Venues!
Dance Clubs
Despite it's small space and the tendency to get crowded, Moose's is a great place to get your groove on to it's club music. With it's shadow box and cage dancing, as well as the foam dancing out on the deck when the weather is warmer, it is entertaining. And now you have a chance to get your 15 min. of fame. Star TV films at Moose's on Friday night and airs on television on Sat. Many great bands perform here too such as Jump Little Children, and Jupiter Coyote.
Swing that partner dosie-do! Pull out the Wranglers and your cowboy boots...it's time to do some line and barn dancing. If you like country this is a great place to check out. And don't worry if you don't have the Western attire...you see a variety of evertying at Joe's. They play a mix of club and country music so there is sure to be something for everyone. And if you are feeling really adventursome, take a shot at riding the bull. It's worth the ride!
If you are looking for something a little out of the ordinary, this is definitely the place to check out. For more industrial and alternative music, this is a club that is great for those who prefer heavier music as opposed to the typical club mix music. Definitely not for the faint of heart though---Wed. and Sat. is Fetish night (need I say more?)
Yet another great place to just kick back and let loose. Best of all, it has a great selection of food to eat while you are there.
Mike and Willy's Sports Bar
Though fun and popular for club dancing and it's dining, this place can be VERY crowded at times. If you love a packed house, this is the place to check out, but if you are claustophobic, you might want to find someplace else. Located down on Cumberland Ave. (The Strip).
Banana Joe's
Located in the Old City, this recently established dance club is very popular, especially since the closing of The Underground. Has many chains in other cities as well.
Music Venues
This beautiful historic building is the site for many fun musical events. In fact, coming soon is the band Gran Torino, and the singer Me'Shell Ndegeocello. Check out their site to keep on top of what else is coming, or who has performed here in the past.

This is most definitely a classic place to be entertained. Built in the 1920's the Tennessee Theatre is a frequently used place for all kinds of concerts such as the recent Fiona Apple concert. It is worth your while to see what coming acts might be coming to this theatre soon.
A perfect setting for some of the most amazing acts that have come here. Headliners such as The Dave Matthews Band, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Foo Fighters, and soon to come, Creed, KISS, and Britany Spears have all frequented this venue. A unique alternative to hearing some great music beyond theatres and arenas. This venue is outdoors where a huge amphitheater was built. Bands such as the Goo-Goo Dolls and Sugar Ray have performed here, and coming soon are some not to be missed acts including The Steve Miller Band.
Bird's Eye View
Located in the Old City at 116 South Central St., this place is not only the location of great poetry slam competitions, but it also is the location of great bands such as Martha's Thirst. Though small, it is a very quaint and intimate atmosphere.
Tomato Head
Despite its slight tragedy when a wall at the Tomato Head fell in, this place has been relocated across the street. Those of you who were fretting about where you were going to see the great musical performances that performed there can relax now. Just go across Market Square.
If you like music that reaches out and touches your soul, then jazz is for you. What a better place to hear it at too, than Baker Peter's. It serves up enough jazz to keep your fingers snapping, and you head bobbing to the beats long into the night.
Odd sounding name and a venue you probably haven't heard of before if you are not from Knoxville, right? Well this location is actually out toward Oak Ridge, but it's worth the few extra minutes drive in order to hear bands like The Charlie Daniel's Band, All-4-One, Kansas, and The Wilkinsons.
