"Life is not governed by will or intention. Life is a question of nerves, and fibers, and slowly built up cells in which thought hides itself and passion has its dreams. A chance tone of color in a room, or a morning sky, a particular perfume that you had once loved and that brings subtle memories with it, a line from a forgotten poem that you had come across again, a cadence from a piece of music that you had ceased to play - it is on things like these our life depends." - & OSCAR WILDE
This is an ego trip! (no masking of facts!) There is absolutely no reason why anyone should be reading about me . Maybe some of my friends (whom I hope I will cajole into visiting my site )may take a look. But hey, if u are one of them, take a closer look! There maybe something about you .And read between the lines. My sure bets are other clue less aspirants planning to make their homepages who will meander into this site. I myself scoured through the accounts of many unknown netizens to get the feel of the task.
Nostalgia
Looking Back, don't those student days seem very precious ?
School Days
The venerable National English School - my alma mater. I can't count the number of boyish planks I was a party to. The only 'bug' in my school life was that Hindi teacher who still sends a shiver down my spine (lol just kidding). She always kept an eagle eye on poor me. The school helped me develop the right attitudes for different walks of life.
College Days
Poorna Prajna Junior College was where I did my 11th & 12 th standard. The college was run by Udpi Admar Matt Swamiji's , who left no leaf unturned in giving the best to the students. Honestly it was my luck to study under many renowned teacher's who had dedicated their entire life to teaching
The next stop over B.E at M.C.E Hassan. It was a huge college with more staff than students. As a result, all the teachers knew you. That's not something you'd like, would you? The course was tough , and exams like hurdle races (I can see many heads nodding at that!) Our days at the college were filled with sparks from the electrical lab, heavy duty slog in the mechanical workshop, busted diodes and scrambled PCBs in the electronics lab. The theory classes were small respites. And then there were assignments, projects and exams galore... It was all set in a rather picturesque campus away from the hotchpotch of city. My first experience of hostel life, too. And loads of friends. The divide between days and night blurred for the first time and we saw many a daybreak over the rounds of overnight melee's. With guys from all over India, it was a truly cosmopolitan experience. Together we picked up several habits. seeing all the newly released movies; swimming in a natural pool nearby ( and dunking the rookies in it !) ; Gate crashing into the hostel after late night movie shows ; winding down with football and cricket in the midst of University exams ; robbing fellows in the mess and generally 'shor machana'...
One of the High points of our hostel life was the cricket world cup 2000. Sitting in the TV room with scores of cricket crazy guys was as good as watching it live. in the stadium. Excitement reached its zenith in the quarter final. The day India flunked out in that disgraceful semifinals, the Hostel resembled more a monastery than an abode of full-blooded young men. There were specimens in the hostel whom u can't forget so easily, There was Abhishek who could dance the whole night through drunk on tea, and his partner Purshottam who taught you how to sleep with your shoes on. The fellow could even confuse his clock with his 24 hour attire. Then there was suave, svelte Karthikeyan and his brat of a partner- Arun (heard of the fellow who started cleaning his ears with a nail and ended up with a screw in his hand? That's him. ). The energy packed Jayesh and Shivaram(the duo who got a written request to wake someone up and stuck a slip with the message -'it's four o clock, get up')Thiru and Bhatta who built smoke castles. Bhaskar and Ganesh busy with their plans,
I came away from MCE in 2001,clutching a degree, a handful of colorful memories and a WAN of friendships. Little did I know that the heavy work schedule at the college was just a prelude to life in the software industry.
My pals U would want to know. One thing is for sure these people have influenced me all my life (untill now) either directly or indirectly :)
