I was born in ENID, OKLAHOMA in 1932 the youngest of 5 children of GLENN L. MITCHELL and RHETA GANT. We moved to BEND, OREGON in 1936. I moved to SEATTLE, WASHINGTON in 1953. In 1987 I retired from THE BOEING COMPANY after more than 30 years of service. I now live just out side of MARYSVILLE, WASHINGTON. I started doing genealogy work in the early part of 1999 when my cousin Bob Mitchell and his wife Betty gave me a GEDCOM file that he had of our family and their ancestors. In the data that he gave me there were many generations some going back to the 15th century,HOWEVER there were some important data missing.
Included in the missing data was any thing on my paternal grandfather and his parents and their ancestors. My grandfather's name is HARTZEL MITCHELL and he was born in 1852 in BURKE COUNTY, PA. In 1892 he married LENA MAY OVERMAN at LAVANT, KANSAS.
I am looking for any information on HARTZEL MITCHELL'S parents, syblings or any other relatives in that area or time period. I am also looking for any information on HARTZEL MITCHELL from 1852 until 1892 prior to his marrying LENA MAY OVERMAN.
In addition I am researching the ITALIAN family of my late brother-in-law MICHAEL H. BISCIGLIA of Seattle, Wa. for his children and their families. His parents were HIPPOLITO BISCIGLIA and VICTORIA CAPUTO .
I think that HIPPOLITO was born in Jan 1868 in SCALA CRALA (OR SCALA COELI), ITALY. VICTORIA was born about 1883 in SCALA CRALA (or SCALA COELI), ITALY and she came to BROOKLYN, NY with her parents and syblings about 1995 when she was 12. I think that HIPPOLITO came to Brooklyn, NY about 1892 or 1893 and then moved to MONTANA prior to 1899. He returned to BROOKLYN in 1901 and married VICTORIA. They returned to MONTANA, first to ELECTRA (or ELECTRIC), and then (when the coal mines there started closing) they moved to LIVINGSTON, MONTANA in 1910.
I do not know anything about HIPPOLITO'S parents or family in ITALY but I do know that he had a nephew CATALDO BISCIGLIA that came to MONTANA just after WW I.
The CAPUTO parents, NICOLE (or SAVENIO) and ROSEMARIA BONARDA (or TOCOVINO) had 2 to 5 children when they arrived in BROOKLYN. They were VICTORIA (I think the oldest); CATHERINE (CATRINA)(who married VINCENSO ARMENTARO in Nov 1905 and moved to LIVINGSTON, MO.); NICHOLAS; ELIZABETH and LILLIAN. Several of the last three MAY have been born in BROOKLYN. I think that ELIZABETH'S married name was SCALISE and LILLIANS married name was DANIALS. I understand that all three were living in Brooklyn when VICTORIA died in 1952. CATHERINE died in 1918 after giving birth to her 6th child.
Any information on the CAPUTO parents or NICOLAS, ELIZABETH or LILLIAN would be appreciated.
