What's the big deal?
A satirical game show, Good News Week began in 1996 on the ABC, but was bought by Channel Ten before the 1999 season. Hosted by Paul McDermott, the original regular team captains were Mikey Robins and Anthony Ackroyd. During the original season, Ackroyd was replaced by Julie McCrossin who continues to this day. Two offshoot shows have also been made: Good News Weekend (1998) and GNW Night Lites (1999). Although brilliant in its heyday (1997-8 seasons), the show has steadily gone down hill since swapping to ten (as has its host) and is on the axing list as I type.
