CN : As a veteran of the comedy scene, what would be your best piece of advice you'd give to someone considering stand-up?
JE : Have Fun!!!
CN : What was the best piece of advise you received on your way up the comedy ladder?
JE : Have Fun!!!
CN : Have you ever considered walking away from the whole comedy scene? If so, when and why?
JE : Sure... I've thought about it... but I know I could never. Where else can I work 45 minutes, get paid, allowed to drink and sleep in. I'd be a fool to leave.
CN : How much time to you set aside per week to write?
JE : It varies week to week.
CN : When creating new material, do you write it down, or commit it to memory right away?
JE : I don't write it down and I don't memorize it either. I'll work out the kinks on stage, when it works to my liking... I'll remember that... and Voila... the birth of a bit.
CN : Do you still search for material or does it just come to you out of life experience?
JE : For me to talk about it... I have to have seen it or been involved somehow. I talk about what I know... hence... no relationship material!
CN : What are your thoughts about the Montreal Comedy News On-Line? (Trick question!)
JE : Wonderful and time consuming. I could have written a new joke in the time that it took to answer this questionnaire. |
