| First and Foremost: No Surgery! My process involves good old fashioned regular visits to the gym. For $37/month, money which I don't have to begin with, I sure as heck better go! The elliptical machine is an even greater invention than sliced bread! I don't just feel the difference immediately, i see it! My eating habits are based on a caloric intake of no more than 1,500 calories a day. I usually stay under and rarely go over. I'm still a fast food junkie, but everything I eat is rationed into halves or quarters. By the time I eat the 1st half of a Subway sub, I feel so bloated and no longer hungry for the 2nd half. My favorite food is Burger King's Caesar Shrimp salad. PHASE #1 COMPLETED (10%=26 lbs)! By training my stomach & emotions that I did not need to consume as much as I previously had. I used to eat until I felt it necessary to lay around in a fetal position for many hours, if not an entire day. I eat about three medium sized meals a day, as opposed to three-four super-sized amounts. While it is still mostly crap I eat, I am also teaching myself to appreciate healthier foods & beverages. Orange juice has been a great substitute for soda (I forced it down my throat when I had that awful cold). Also, I discoverd that cantelope can be eaten as a desert. Not too shabby. By starting slowly by using the elliptical trainer, treadmill & rowing machine, I am now strong enough to begin the weight training I so desperately need. The fitness level of my upper body is the exact opposite of my lower. It is too difficult to lug my textbooks around anymore. My friend Melissa (who used to work at a gym) has reminded me about the stretching positions (I haven't done them since I was like 12) and taught me weight lifting techniques. Thank you Melissa!!! Overall, I am very happy that my dedication has helped me reached phase #1. The 2nd phase is now another 10% body weight goal of 24 pounds. Like in phase #1, I will not have a general deadline. The more I decide to live a healthier lifestyle, the sooner I will reach the goal. PHASE #2 COMPLETED (Additional 10%= 24 lbs)! |
