Laura runs up to the intersection, bringing the bag on her shoulder, checking the wristwatch. The traffic light turns red and she should stop there. |

LAURA: |
C’MON, I’M LATE. |

Laura waits on the street. The cars start. One big truck turns right and throws a package of Canada Dry cans away down on the street in front of Laura. Laura is surprised. |

SFX: |
THUD! |

LAURA: |
HEY, WATCH OUT, IDIOT! |

3 |
The Canada Dry spurt out from a number of cans scattered over the street and other pedestrians approach there with a smile. Laura covers her face with the arms to protect herself from the sprinkling pop. |

SPLASH |

|
LAURA: |
WHOA, STOP IT! |
|
|
PEDESTRIAN: |
LOOKS GOOD. |

The pedestrians pick up the cans on the street. Laura also joins them. The traffic light turns green. |

LAURA: |
OH, COOL! FREE POPS. |
|

PEDESTRIAN: |
I’D HAVE BROUGHT COOLER BOX WITH ME. |
FIRST MORNING 2

The pedestrians and Laura smile, holding a bunch of pop cans in their hands. Some cans still sprinkle the pop on the street. |

LAURA: |
EARLY BIRD GETS POPS! |

|
PEDESTRIAN: |
WE DON’T NEED TO WORK TODAY. |

Laura is surprised at the bus coming to the stop across the street. Other pedestrians still smile. |

LAURA: |
OH, NO! IT’S MY BUS. |
|
|
PEDESTRIAN: |
DON’T WORRY. WE GOT ENOUGH POPS FOR TODAY. |

Laura throws away the cans and dashes toward the bus. The traffic light turns red and the cars are about to start. The drivers honk the horn. |

BOOHOO |

LAURA: |
WAIT! I’M COMING. |
|

DRIVER: |
HEY, THE LIGHT CHANGED. |

On the street, the bus starts. Laura runs after it, waving her hand. The passengers laugh at her through the rear window. |

LAURA: |
I GOTTA GO THERE. THE FIRST DAY OF MY JOB. PLEASE! |
ON THE BUS

The bus is crowded and many passengers stand on the aisle. Laura’s just got in from the front door. The bus starts. |

LAURA (thought): |
WHOA, I’M LATE. |

2 |
Laura goes into the middle of bus among the passengers. Many passengers stand on the aisle but she finds one unused seat among the passengers. |

LAURA (thought): |
OH, I’M STILL LUCKY. |
|

Laura hops in the seat and opens only one pop can she has picked up on the street and still holds in her hand. |

LAURA (thought): |
WHY ARE OTHER GUYS SO DULL? |

Laura drinks the pop and squints at the guy next seat. Greg sits there, who looks like a mobster or something. Laura is scared and realizes why this seat remains unoccupied. |

LAURA (thought): |
OOH. I SEE WHY THIS SEAT WAS RESERVED FOR ME. |
|
|
GREG (thought): |
I DON’T MEAN TO SCARE HER. |
FIRST DAY

At the dressing room of fast-food restaurant, Laura meets the manager who is upset with her delay. She apologizes the manager. |

MANAGER: |
YOU’RE THE FIRST PERSON WHO IS LATE ON THE FIRST DAY. |

LAURA: |
SORRY. I HAD A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT. A KIND OF… |

At the dressing room, Laura still apologizes the manager. The manager turns away. |

One hour later, Laura in uniform stands behind the counter, waiting for customers at the fast-food restaurant. There are not so many customers yet. |

Laura meets the customers behind the service counter of fast-food restaurant. In front of her, a handsome guy tells her his order. Laura responds to him with a big smile. |

On the floor of fast-food restaurant, the Customer sits at the table. Laura is on her way there, bringing the tray. In front of her, his Girl Friend comes up and kisses him for greeting. |

HI, SWEETHEART. |
|

LAURA (thought): |
OH, NO. |

The Customer and his Girl Friend take seat. Laura put down the tray on the table violently, and leaves there in silence. |
