For all the negative press she had received, in the end Dusty became known for her humour, her kindness, and her generosity. She spent many hours working at animal sanctuaries helping look after animals like lions and tigers, adopted as pets and then rejected. The animals Dusty worked with could not be released into the wild because they had been rendered unfit to defend themselves, having been declawed, defanged, or both. She took in any stray cat that came to her door and loved them all. Those who knew her describe her as warm, affectionate, and a great personality. Dusty Springfield is sorely missed by one and all.
