| Hi guys! My name is combokar ( AKA Louis :o) ) and i am a Yu-gi-oh player and seller .I have decided to write this guide to help those of you that are new either to Ebay or to Yu-gi-oh make the best decision buying Yu-gi-oh cards .

Author word Part A 1-What is Yu-gi-oh The Yu-gi-oh card game is based on a Japanese comic book and cartoon series . It is a card game based on monsters,spell and trap cards featuring creatures that have to fight in duel. An official duel is made of 3 rounds while at home it could easily be only 1 ;O) . A t the start of each round both players have 8000 points and you want your opponents to either lose his 8000 points , run out of cards or be knock out by a card combination like the Exodia one . 2-Try the game To play the game you need a deck of cards . A deck will be made of 40 cards or more (40 cards is known to be the norm) . You can buy cards individually and build your own deck or you can go and buy some already made Yu-gi-oh starter deck . Those already made deck are not necessarily the strongest one but for the price , which is reasonable , they will be enough for the new Yu-gi-oh fan to see if they will like the game or not therefore saving you a lot of money that you would have spend on individual cards. 3-Improve your deck You did try the game and you loved it? I am not surprise . Now you certainly want more ;O) . You need to buy more cards and make your deck stronger and scarier . Here's how you can buy cards: � -You can go and buy some more decks .They all contain valuable cards that will help you . � -You can buy Yu-gi-oh packs of cards or boxes . Packs usually contain 9 cards and boxes 24 packs.Take a good note that the packs of the series DB1- DB2- DR1- DR2- DR3- contain more cards from many older set and are another good way to get some no longer available cards . � -You can also buy many kind of other product containing cards like Tins which contain some packs and an ultra rare card . � -You can go to a card dealer , like me yes of course :O)) , and buy what you need from him . � Now be aware of the rarity of the card you seek as the rarer the more expensive.Yu-gi-oh cards comes in different level of rarity and if you are a collector you will seek the rarest one but if you are a player you will seek the cheapest one . Here's the rarity list: 1-Common which are standard non-special cards 2-Rare who simply have a silver foil name 3-Super rare Which have an holographic picture foil 4-Ultra rare who have a gold lettering foil and an holographic picture 5-Secret rare which have an holographic silver foil lettering and a polarized holofoil picture 6-Promo cards mostly same as the secret rares 7-Ultimate rare Thinner than usual cards they have an embossed relief effect 7-Parallel rare card with a polarizing effect all over the card. 4-Improve your game Now , You have a strong deck? You still want more? :O))) Ok , ok here we go .Now what you need is to find ways to practice your skills to become the king of the game (at least in your home ! ;O)) ) .Here are some ways : � -Play at home with your family members and friends . � -Buy some Yu-gi-oh video game to practice your new skills and see the best and newest of cards in action . � -Get yourself in an organize league either in your neighborhood or here on line . Part B 1-How to buy cards on Ebay To buy cards on Ebay you first have to determine your needs and try to stick to them because what is hard here is to keep control of the ability to buy things easily which should always be properly supervised. If you are a parents i suggest that you go and write some guidelines for your kids and that you never ever let them cards here by them self without your supervision and approval . If you are a kid please always ask your parents to buy things for you here and never do it by yourself. Now that you and/or your kid is comfortably seated in front of your computer go to Ebay then type Yu-gi-oh cards then starting from there learn your way around .Visit many shops and seller , read the comments that previous customer left for them . Check many auctions and buy it now text and get to know the difference between them .When you will be ready to buy make sure to sign up with paypal for the easiest , safest and more secure way to pay for your items .The most important things before starting to buy anything is to take your time because you are in no rush and you should always remember it . You found a card you want to buy? Good for you now go to the next step. 2- Where to buy cards on Ebay Get to know your seller , read his auctions including the fine print , compare his prices and dont hesitate to ask him any question . After all , the serious seller want you to be happy and to come back so he wont hesitate to please you the best he can . I f the seller is slow to answer or gives you evasive answers then you can bet he will have the same attitude after he close the sale if you have any problems with your items . What to need to look for is a seller that knows how important customer trust is and the only way to find it is to give it a try.You may want to start trying a sellers by buying a few non expensive items which reduce the risk . Then , if all goes well as it normally should ,start buying more important items . I wish i could have give you a list of sellers to avoid and shop never to visit but thats not my goal nor my job. You will have to walk around cautiously and make your first step all alone but,at least, you do know that the grass isin't green everywhere! :O))) 3-Beware!!!!! Ebay is a place where humans do business and where there are human there are good and bad things .Most seller are honest and professional but yes there are some weird thing going on here and there .Here are some examples : � Grab bag ,where a seller try to make you buy from him by advertising all kind of extremely appealing cards but the auction text will read that you can win 1 of the following cards where all the other cards are of lower value.Guess the rest!!! � Watch out for unusually high shipping and handling fees ,check out for combine shipping fees .You will learn the drill pretty fast. � God cards ,Don't buy them if they are out of their grey silver pack unless you would be happy with a fake .Remember this simple thing ''If it is too goo to be true then IT IS!!!'' Some other point about god cards :If the whole card and not only the picture is shinny it's a fake .If the card is thicker than your other Yu-gi-oh cards are or not the same size it's a fake . � Watch out from whom you buy Yu-gi-oh packs because they most probably have been searched which mean some seller knows how to see if there are any super or ultra rare in a pack and you can bet they will keep them for themself .Solution,buy a sealed by the manufacturer box. � Be sure to ask if the card you are buying is a first edition or a re-print ect... because it affect the rarity and the price of it.
