Arizona’s New Mexican Mafia

In 1984 this group was formed as a result of a split from "Arizona's Old Mexican Mafia." In order to be completely independent of the other Mexican Mafia gangs, the gang adopted its own constitution, rules and regulations.

Membership- Approximately 270 members

Common Tattoos – A Circle of flames, one set of flames clockwise and one set counter clockwise, with two M’s crossing in the lower part of the circle. A skull is present in the top part of the circle.

Prison Criminal Activity - Narcotics, Extortion, Assaults, and Gambling.

Specific Tattoo/Symbolism - It will usually be two M’s which cross at the bottom, encircled with two sets of flames each rotating in opposite directions. A skull will be between the two M’s. And/or the words “Mexican Mafia”, “EME”, or “Carnalismo”

Trends: Terrorist threat on ADC Administration (solicited Aryan Brotherhood alliance). Planned assaults on staff. Factional differences, infighting. Increase recruitment to load up lock- up facilities.
