Kathryn apologizes for posting material sent to me by a very dishonest person who
exploited my desire to discover what happened to Joseph. I would not deliberately undermine
my credibility or attribute remarks to people unless I sincerely believed they did write to me
in good faith. I information I receive has been manipulated by people who have ulterior motives
for misleading me. I have attempted to confirm all e-mails which bear the electronic signatures
of public figures, my assumption if there has been no reply is that the mail is valid. Ordinarily
all e-mail I have received is immediately cc'd to another party for verification.
My husband, Joseph Coluzzi was reported to me as missing from the Merchant Vessel Lopez from Guam in 1998. Joe was reported to me as a missing person, there were newspaper articles in Pacific Daily News concerning his disappearance from MV Lopez at a Guam Buoy Marker at the Navy Base. I feared foul play at the hands of his shipmates, some of whom at that time were US military personnel assigned to a training exercise on the ship. Joe did not return to his ship following a routine refueling and training excercise in January 1998. It was not until
Senator John McCain, Senator Hilary Clinton, Colin Powell, Vice President Dick Cheny and the staff of our Commander in Chief, President George Bush were kind enough to assist my efforts regarding discovery of the circumstances surrounding
the incident that I learned my husband was deceased. I cannot prove the marriage was legal until I can communicate with Captain Harold Boltin. The company refused to give me his address or apparently deliver messages. Senator Jim Webb of Virginia has also offered his assistance to achieve resolution of the matter. I wish to bury my husband but do not know what happened to his remains.
In 1998 I began contacting my late husbands company, the Department of Defense Committees responsible for oversight, the US Coast Guard, the News Media,the FBI, the police, the US Navy and Seafarers International. My letters sent by registered, return receipt requested mail were received. I did show the receipts to United Press International and other law enforcement agencies. I requestedThe FBI in New York City( in the same area code as Seaman's Church) to intercept a telephone ca;; when a man identifying himself as a Member of the Board of Directors of AMSEA threatened me by citing The Jones Act. I also requested the City of Alexandria Police in the summer of 04 to intercept an unsolicited phone call from someone who claimed to have information about Joseph. Gretchen and Pat Bannigan of the AMSEA home office, at that time in Quincy, Mass were disdainful and arrogant, refusing to put me in touch with anyone who could let me know what happened to Joe.
I wrote a lengthy statement for the Saipan police, for Naval Intelligence and contacted many law enforcement agenicies including the CIA concerning incidents I witnessed which might have led to Joe's murder.
I with to request a retraction paid for by the company Joe worked for to the media correcting a statement made to Pacific Daily News in Feb. 1998 which stated Joe was AWOL. I wish to restore my late husbands honor.
For many years I attempted to connect with officials and agencies for information, my questions were disregarded by the Board of AMSEA, they referred me to an oversight committee in Congress who also disregarded my questions and asked that I prove the marriage was legal. Our documents
were in Joe's cabin.For many years I did persist in my inquiries. Many people from whom I asked for assistance were contemptible.
In June of 2004, in Alexandria, Va. I received a phone call from a man who wanted me to meet with him secretly, he insisted that I cooperate with him concerning "matters about your late husband". I invited him to call back, meanwhile, I asked Alexandria Police to intercept the call. The caller had promised to return my call after I told him I would provide him with my banking information. The caller did call again but local authorities in Alexandria intercepted the call. They patched me to other agencies, later making long distance phone calls to people in US Federal Positions overseas and in the USA. Someone on that call was a sadist who did not believe I was married to a Missing Person, he said "Yeah, your husband was murdered and cremated and John forced Gino to eat the ashes" The people who agreed to connect me with those who could confirm my statements dialed Saipan and Europe.
I have been threatened by people who do not wish their involvement in the mishandling of my circumstance be made public. I copied e-mails bearing the electronic signtures of these people to Congressmen, Senators, the IRS and Military Intelligence, various police departments and the National News Media. I have also contacted the Federal Securities and Exchange Commission. One e-mail was received in March of 07 and I forwarded this to an editor at US News Ventures as well as to Senator McCain.
I have been able to rely on other members of Congress who are outside the Committee to pursue the investigation. It was requested of me the web page ColuzziJosephMissingPerson be dismantled, I am unable to make changes on the web site, which was at least twice accessed by well intentioned people. I have protested the inaccessibility of my password to yahoo with no reply.
For six years I inquired of AMSEA for any information related to the incident. For six years I wrote to US Senators who serve on the Defense Committe which has oversight of PrePosition Ships with Department of Defense Contracts. All I learned is that some members of the Committee have stock options in the company Joe worked for and therefore some Senators earn interest on our money while was "missing" and while I was attempting to prove our marriage was legal. Some US Senators and Congressmen on the Defense Committee, which has oversight of Prepostion vessels with Department of Defense Contracts, have financial interests in the company. If shortcommings concerning the vessels operations and personnel were made public, the Congressional Committee, having personal financial interests and family members involved in "Oversight" of the Board of Directors could have been embarassed or have lost the contract. I do not believe those with financial interests in companies over which they have oversight should make decisions impacting our National Defense.
The FBI in New York at the same area code as The Seaman's Church and Seafarer's Institute were on the line when one threat was made to me by a man who identified himself as Lewis.
There were no classified or military reasons to conceal Joe's death. I think someone covered up his death and his cremation to profit by 1) administering our financial estate 2)avoid criminal prosecution for drug trafficing or illicit narcotic use, or 3) protect the company from exposure of unsafe equipment and improper staffing of the vessel by people who were hired from an employment agency and were not union members.
Some labor hired on the vessel were in violation of the Seaman's Union contract with the company. My husband Shop Steward before obtaining his Captain's License, reported that certain members of the crew were hired through an employment agency.
I have reported to law enforcement and/or forwarded threatening e-mails sent to me. Meanwhile, it seems that our money and property were dispersed among his employers and/or their friends. At this time, September of 2007,
I received threats where I was visiting in Charleston, WVa and have mailed my complaints to the WVa Attorney General's office and to the City of Charleston Police Department. The City Police Department in Alexandria, Va. and the FBI in Arlington and Lorton have been contacted by witnesses to these threats. I am merely visiting this area and hope soon to return home. I have seen a well known
public figure lurking in the backyard of my parents home and also at the Flea Market where I was menaced. In Alexandria Va people driving cars with WV license plates were reported to the police for menacing me. Other incidents were on Capitol Street, at a restaurant and at a Flea Market and also at a church I attend when visiting this area.
The irresponsibility of the Board of Directors and the Oversight Committee amounts to sociopathic disregard for their employees and contractors of the Defense Department.
I hope the parties involved in either accomplice to murder, willful negligence or conspiracy to defraud will be criminally prosecuted. Unfortunately we cannot prevent nespotism and misogyny from influencing those politicians who have failed to fulfill their oversight responsibilities. I have complained to the State Bar Association in Virginia and West Virginia Attorney General's Office that I do not seek representation in this state where I am visiting concerning Joe Coluzzi. I do wish to prosecute those who have harassed me in front of witnesses.
I believe my husband was murdered, his murderer conspired to conceal his death, feigning a missing person story. I want to know who has benefitted financially or professionally from this travesty. How can we have people serving on Defense related committees who cannot even find a man who was sent to Germany after his death on Guam where he was reported missing. What sort of "Intelligence Oversight" was operating when none of the military or company or DOD committee members were willing to return my inquiries or even to express their condolences? Do they have interest in anything other than oversight of their investments and stock options? Who specifically signed the authorization to cremate my late husband? Who has administered our finance, why did they take my husbands belongs from the vessel and not find the marriage certificate? Why was the wrong person, a Captain with the same name, contacted rather than the man who married us? I think if someone had coordinated the investigation with respect for the right of people who love Joe to have information the problems would not have escalated to the present state of confusion and misinformation.
I want my husbands remains returned to me and buried according to our faith. We are Catholics and do not believe in cremation, my husband was wearing a Bowswains Cross, anyone would not it was a symbol of our faith.After nine years I continue to wait for resolution and closure. I do have eight years of higher education, background in criminal justice and journalism. I am a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. I am not inclined to share my problems, I felt in necessary to maintain a record of incidents. The material is emotionally ladden and is difficult to write about.

I await word of the investigation conducted by a New York Life Special Investigator and from Lloyds of London, where I also maintain correspondence with the Metropolitan Police Force.
I wish to thank the staff of Senator Hilary Clinton, Senator John McCain, Colin Powell, Vice President Dick Cheney and our First Family for assisting me as I attempt to recover my husbands remains. They have also explored the question of what happened to my husbands assets. The Nyack, N.Y. police have been very helpful, as were the police in Springfield, Ill.; London,UK; Saipan,CNMI;Chas., WV and Alexandria, Va and Texas where I lived when I first returned to the USA and visited foreign consuls concerning possible other ports where Joe's vessel might have voyaged which would merit non disclosure. The Vessel it is now established was at Guam at the buoy marker originally provided to me by the Navy. The documents I needed to establish my right to information about my husband were removed from his cabin.
Senator Webb of Virginia is very helpful, I have signed permission to access all files and correspondence which I attempted to gather concerning Joseph.
