| I have a response to Letters to the Editor "Bush has strong record opposing abortion" dated 8/26/04. (Columbus Dispatch) I find Mark Harrington's article very disturbing. He obviously is very misinformed about the issues he speaks about.I would like to point out that PRO-ABORTION and PRO-CHOICE are NOT the same thing. There is a major difference and I find it very offensive that he would catagorize them both as the same and call John Kerry a "pro-abortionist". John Kerry is NOT a pro-abortionist. Pro-choice basically means that you have the choice. Pro-abortion means they are for abortion. Pro-life means they are for life. So, if you are Pro-choice, you can be pro-life as well. Why you ask? As many would not chose to have an abortion themselves, they would not prohibit women who chose that or have to have them to save their lives. You can also be pro-choice and pro-abortion. I just wanted to inform you that they are not the same and you can be one or two of the three choices listed above. Would you call a woman who has a tubal pregnancy a murderer because she had to have a life saving abortion? I would pray that you wouldn't. Outlawing abortion would kill those women in need of them and make the ones that do so by choice do it anyway but in an unsafe environment which would lead to many more mortalities among women and high infection rates that could lead to them having to have reproductive organs removed and leaving them barron. Is this a good thing? I would hope pro-lifers could at least agree with this. I wish Kate Michelman luck with stopping the reversal of Roe vs Wade. Reversing it would violate constitutional rights and would cause more women to be unsafe and die. It's like drugs, they were outlawed but yet people find a way to get them. Abortion is the same way, outlaw it and women will find a way, but it could lead to their death. I honestly can say that John Kerry would make a great president and at least his choice is clear: he is pro-choice, not pro-abortion. President Bush on the other hand is confusing me and I will not vote for him. How can you be Pro-life AND for the death penalty? It does not make any sense at all.You are either for life or against life. You can't claim to be both. Hippocracy? The choice is clear. Now you decide.
