Be Your Best Self

The "Be Your Best Self" program is a nationwide outreach program aimed primarily at influencing young people. Based on seven elements to encourage self-esteem and prepare young people with the challenges they will face in the future. It was adopted as the America's Junior Miss platform in 1987.

Seven Elements:
   Living by moral principals
   Getting a good education
   Staying Fit
   Proper Nutrition
   Community Service
   Setting Goals
   Working to reach your goals

As positive role models, Junior Misses have a mission that encourages others to strive to be thier best selves and promote excellence. By delivering a message of morals, integrity, honesty, love, respect, and hope to other young people, Junior Misses continue to set high goals and encourage those who surround them.

An award is given at the state program for the local Junior Miss who exhibits these standards and qualities.
