Mila is a starved and neglected thoroughbred that has been rescued. She was found very close to death and is in need of a lot of tender loving care. Mila spent the first couple of days after her rescue at Dr Alfords clinic with a case of severe impaction. She was in constant discomfort and very near death, but amazingly Mila recovered from her illness. Now all Mila needs is feed, hay, and care. Our club has chosen to help Mila as our community pride project this year. Our goal is to bring Mila back to the beautiful horse we all know she can be. We will be holding fund raisers to help cover the cost of Mila's feed and vet bills. Update: Our first fundraiser at Tractor Supply was a great success. Our kids did a great job baking and selling goodies and spreading the word of Mila's plight. A big thank you to all that donated. Mila also says thanks! Here are a couple of pictures of Mila. They are very heartbreaking to look at but this is the reality of neglect that some horses endure. Please know that she is steadily improving as you can see by the pictures. She is eating like a horse and we can't wait untill we can post a picture of her all fat and sassy!
