Unleash the beast!

Remember those Attack Pack toys made by Hot Wheels in the early '90s? The ones that were 4x4 trucks that were mutated with animals. Well for those that do remember or those that want to know more, here is the first Web site (to my knowledge) dedicated to Attack Pack toys. The site is currently under construction, but please feel free to contribute information and/or photos regarding these toys. Any information would be great, be it from memory or elsewhere, and can be sent here. Enjoy!

These toys, earliest copyrighted in 1992, may have only lasted a year, but they made a big impact when they were in production. The toys' trademarked slogan was "Unleash the beast!" The toys were given a back story that was printed on the back of the toys' packaging. Each toy had an affiliation with either the Heroic Cat Pack or the Evil Rat Pack. The logo/symbol for the Cat Pack was a teal green thumbs up with a white background, and the Rat Pack was represented with a red skull with thin, slanting eyes and four sharp teeth, two of which were longer (once I have good pictures of these, I can do away with the descriptions). Additionally, each toy had its own description (described on each toys page accessible from the Toys page). McDonalds released a single blue truck along with other toys with its Happy Meals at one point, and later released four more along with Polly Pocket toys in a future monthly Happy Meal theme. Although more than 25 individual toys were produced and had strong TV advertising, the toy line only lasted a year or two before Hot Wheels ceased production of them.
