| HOWARD STERN: SUPERSTERN! CD This is a collection of edited shows from March to May of 1986 rarely or never heard on the Best of Stern show. In the opening track, Howard first introduces the use of the harmonizer, a device he used to lower the pitch of his voice and later went on to create the characters Bob & Ray. In the next segment, Howard and Robin discuss how they are working on a cure for Aids by Howard having sex with laboratory mice in his basement. Robin then reads the classic news report about the famous Cock Hotel, a hotel where illegal cockfights were routinely held. The double entendres are endless! Howard and Robin then go into their Bob and Ray characters and chastise the new traffic woman, Susan Berzerkowitz. In another classic bit, Howard talks to an unpretentious caller and because of his profession, he turns him into the superhero Doorman. As an avid Stern listener for many years, I find this to be one of the most hilarious yet overlooked bits Ive heard in years. Then theres the Porn Report, a review of all the latest porno flicks out in the theatres and a decision on whether to have a poll when Susan will off herself because of the torment they are putting her through on the air. 75 minutes of priceless material! |

| STERNBO Vs. THE BEATLES CD This is the very first show when Howard went from afternoon drive to mornings in New York back in 1986. He defiantly challenges Imus and the rest of the morning zoos as Sternbo, promising to obliterate all of his competition. Howard also spends some time with his new morning audience, particularly a listener who is still in bed, and brings him into the Homo Room. In another segment, callers seem to be in the Twilight Zone when asked about what they thought of the Sternbo bit. In a totally unrelated segment from a show later that same week, Howard interviews Pete Best, the drummer for the Beatles who was fired just before they hit super-stardom. Which of the Beatles are circumcised? Pete Best answers this question and many more in this absorbing interview. After Pete leaves, Howard discovers his itinerary left behind by his agent and reads it on the air. He feels sorry for the former Beatle who has to humiliate himself by appearing on the other morning zoos that day. Finally, Howard poses as a cop in a phony phonecall made to a song parody winner, who yodeled his way to a free trip to England with The King Of All Media. |

| HOWARD STERN IN ENGLAND - 5 CD SET Heres a week of shows where Howard, after running a song parody contest, took 30 listeners to England back in March of 1986. The best of these shows are highlighted here on 5 cds! Some of the shenanigans include Howard waking up song parody winners posing as a repairman from the phone company. He has them banging their phones and spreading butter on them in order to fix them! Theres the Charles Nelson Reily Traffic, Susan Berserkowitz and early Ebonics with a black traffic reporter. In England at the Hard Rock Caf, Howard criticizes British television, interviews Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull and performs a rendition of Aqualung with him. Alan Parsons discuss Paul McCartney, Syd Barrett, working with the Beatles and the concept behind the Project. Roger Daltry shows up and talks about the break-up of The Who and sings Wont Get Fooled Again with Howard. Another show at the Coconut Grove finds Howard out on the streets of London asking people who should the U.S. send to get Kadafi, Rocky or Rambo? He then gets water and onions dumped on him by some non-fans. Billy Squire is guest and tells Howard what hes been up to lately. Dee Snider and Howard play back tapes of a brawl that happened the night before at a Mexican restaurant. This is classic Stern, back in the days when the live commercials became comedic bits! This rare series of shows has never been rebroadcast on any Best of Stern shows. Over 6 hours of material on 5 cds. | ||||||||||||||||||||
