Baby Possum is a silvered black berkshire, like my other rats Stormy & Sugarfoot (who are both very camera shy) and her mother was a hairless rat! The easiest way to tell her apart from Stormy & Sugarfoot is that Possum has a VERY pointy face and a black dot on her white belly.
I adopted her at 6 weeks old on my 21st birthday from a rescuer & mouse breeder. I was originally going to name her Sundance, because she came from Rising Sun, MD. But she is so possum-like, that I decided to change her name.
After a lonely quarantine, she immediately became friends with my other rats. Now the 3 are inseparable ;)
Possum died on October 18th, 2003 and she will be greatly missed by me & her ratty friends. |
