FIRST POST: ORACLE (7 posts) I'd like to know more about the legendary DJ but since the site's temp. shut down because of the unauthorised plan to make his biography a movie I don't have a good source of information on him. So.. if anyone knows about the guy or has even been to one of his gigs, I'd appreciate if you shared all the information you knew here, I'd love to know more about him, can't find the info though. Conclusion: The above reactions are not only completely uncalled for, but also immature, and a petty attempt of those "almost vets" to clamber up in the hirarchy by displaying their "wit" (sad that the word "wit" has degraded to a word used solely with insults in these message boards) and trampling on everyone else. On other threads in this subforum, regs posted some pictures of their girlfriend and that was not flamed by anyone. It is evident that most people flame because the person posting this message is a "noob" and therefore the lowest on the food chain. It has never occured to them that they are not in the LEAST bit better, the fact that they have 1000 posts more doesn't make them superior in any way. The amount of NARCISSM and INSOLENCE is tremendous and unbelievable. It becomes incredibly evident that they consider themselves entirely superior. Superior because they spend more time on one particular message board? Since when does that make someone superior to the next person? You may ask "How does insolence on a message board tie in with subcultures and communities"? Well, quite simple. Those people are all members of some subculture or community. (Either Raver, Punk, Goth etc.) I really think that being solely umong their own kind all the time has somehow clouded their brain and made them harsh and self-righteous.. and what seems to be, extremely bitter. I have always believed that people who put each other down must have great big self doubts and they hope to inflate their ego by putting others down and seeming "cool" infront of their fellows. In this case I believe their motive was: 1.) They consider themselves superior to someone with less posts and therefore they feel they have the right to put that person down 2.) They want to seem "witty" infront of the regular members (or the members with more posts than they do. Those, in turn, have "even more" power), and by doing so, hope to gain influence. Those subcultures seem to exist entirely within themselves, and the attributes of most people are being insolent, elitist, narcisstic and proud. This leads them into "flaming" people who have a.) not deserved it b.) done nothing to provoke this kind of behaviour because a.)they have not established themselves within the community b.) they are new and they are therefore considered inferior that's what I call MORONIC. NOW there's NUFF SAID. Last word: Freud would loved to analyze those asswipes pretentious behaviour and he would not have been able to count the many insecurities they have.
