There are four classes within the registry, each of which has a section for horses and a section for ponies.

Class O = Horse's pedigree is entire original Indian bloodlines: Barb, Foundation Appaloosa, Spanish Mustang.

Class AA = 1 of the horse's parents is registered Class O, or the horse has been inspected and found to be of exceptional O type (see Class A below).

Class A = The horse has the correct body type of an American Indian Horse, but it's bloodlines are unknown (ie, BLM Mustangs, backyard grade horses).  Horses registered Class A may be inspected at age 4 or older to be promoted to Class AA if they prove to be of exceptional quality, as defined by the AIH standard.

Class M = The horse has the corrct body type, but bloodlines of a modern breed (AQHA, etc.)
