| DAY 17: MAY 22, 2002 12:33 PM BOGOTA, COLOMBIA |
| Well this is my last day here in Bogota... I would like to fill you in all of my days here though. So heres to some more catch-up, starting off from Sunday, May 19 (DAY 14): DAY 14, May 19: Took taxi to Iglesia Cristiana Menonita de Colombia (Mennonite Christian Church of Colombia) for 10am service. Actually not a very far trek. Only thing was I had forgotten about Ciclovia on La Septima on Sundays, so I had to walk just a few blocks farther to catch the taxi. I found that this church is connecting to the building of Justapaz, which I had heard of before knowing about... ...people I met there... ...lunch ...flea market ...Confraternidad church ... DAY 15, May 20: morning? music instrument shopping (when was that?) afternoon at Jardin Botanico... to Montserrate... develop pictures... DAY 16, May 21: morning 3 hours on here! :) afternoon trip to Carrefour this time to pick up AREQUIPE for family and friends back home, and I also picked up some fruits as I had not tried too many yet... Salerno... walking, and talking in Plaza de Santander... last night to visit Seora Lijia and eat some of her arepas, so we walked there and I got two. She asked when I would be back next, and we said, "Soon". :) In the evening I took that terrible process of water and bleach to clean my fruits, and I dug in.. details later... but, i LOVE THE MANGOS!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAY 17, May 22 -- TODAY!: K I gotta go soon cuz I dont have so many pesos left! wink wink. K for now above there are some bare bones of my experience of the last few days, someday I will fill it in ok! Today I am trying something new, the services of a laundromat in Bogota, only so that all my clothes are clean for heading to Mexico, and, since there is not time to hangdry it all before tomorrow morning! ;) Want to pick up a few more things if possible -- if the bank machine will serve me well this afternoon (it did not serve me well this morning). Tonight is dinner out with Tania and her family, I think the plan is to go somewhere where I can try AJIACO, a Colombian soup. And after, she and I are meeting a number of my new friends at some cafe... Got to be at the airport 3 HOURS in advance here, that means have to be there at 4:10am, for my flight goes out at 7:10am. I am looking forward to this leg of my flights because it is on an AIRBUS, love the big ones! :) So you can all rest assured, Mariana will be picking me up in Mexico City Airport. AND, she has informed me that her Dad had the idea that I can go with she and her family to the National League (of futbol, that is, soccer) FINAL which is tomorrow night in Mexico City. So, that will be a blast, what a way to kick off my time in Mexico. ALright, hasta la proxima, abrazos y besos de Colombia, AMY |
