Hi all!  Its been a while eh!  Where did I leave off??  Hmm, I think Veracruz.  Yes, that place was real hot!

Nadine and I spent two long afternoons out walking on the beach, in the water, and also picking up conchas (shells), we both reeaaally enjoyed it.  :)  We ate at a few restaurants and had good food although for some things like bottled water had not at first asked the price, so landed up paying quite a lot for that when we could have picked some up at a store for less.  Anyway, in Veracruz, I tried some more Mexican foods including:  CHILAQUILES, which is like taco chips with red or green salsa, onions, cheese, (did I forget anything) I loved it and have since already longed for another plateful of those.  Also I tried fried platanos (plantains) and I liked those too.

A couple things about Veracruz besides its climate:  too many people (street vendors), while you are at your restaurant dinner table, come by seeing if you want anything.  It kind of made it almost difficult to relax and talk and enjoy your time at the table cuz you-re always having to say "No, gracias" to every one who goes by...  A second thing is the men:  all of them make sounds and say stuff as you walk by (that is if you are female).  It was there I learned from Nadine the word "guera" which means "white (female) one".  ("Guero" if you are a guy).  But anyway we ignored them all, and, these things are just an inevitable part of the culture.

Took a 12:30am bus from Veracruz City directly to Mexico City North Bus Terminal on last Tuesday night.  Arrived at 6:20am, bought ticket and caught another bus at 6:40am to Queretaro City, for a mid-morning arrival.  Got some sleep on both stretches.  There are very nice buses in Mexico.  Paid for a taxi to Pan de Vida.  I didnt realize it was decent hot weather in this city either.  Indeed as all who have been here have told me, it IS a pretty city.

OK, TO BE CONTINUED, its late, this place is going to close soon and it is dark.  I hope to continue it tomorrow.

HUGS, Ames.
