SALARY: $31,685 PAY GRADE: C REPORTS TO: Purchasing Supervisor STARTING DATE: As Soon As Possible SUMMARY: To perform purchasing functions as per the Board guidelines and directives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (include the following. Other duties may be assigned) Examine and evaluate purchasing requests. Develop bid specifications and standards. Conduct conferences with bidders/departments. Write contracts for services and supplies. Develop and maintain customer relations. Evaluate, analyze and tabulate bid information. Research and analyze new products and markets. Perform computer processing. Identify and maintain vendor lists. Assist in administration of District vehicle maintenance and replacement. Negotiate contracts for renewals. Attend conferences and certification classes. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High school diploma or equivalent, plus specialized advanced courses equivalent to two years of college. EXPERIENCE: Over one year and up to three years experience in purchasing. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT: Must have knowledge of communications, general accounting, budget administration. Knowledge of business law helpful. Ability to understand and deal with a high degree of direct contact with confidential information or procedures. Operating knowledge of PC. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: Purchasing certification (CPPB) preferred for hire, but may be acquired within 24 months of hire.
