Winamp 5.11- It all starts and ends with Winamp. The only media player I ever use. Tons of skins and plugins. There isn't anything you can't do with Winamp. It really whips the llama's ass.

iTunes- If I have to tell you about what iTunes is, then you must not be from this planet and will have to explain a lot to you. Where to begin ? Dammit, just download it, already.
foobar2000- a media player with a smaller footprint than just about any other, so if you have an older computer, this might be a good choice for you.

Anvil Studio- It may not have all the features of the $800 music composition programs out there, but if you've always wanted to write music and have a decent soundcard, you'll find this program useful.
