Game 47: 2/26/05 vs. Jersey Penguins (W 7-0)
After a dismal weekend the Colonials were looking to rebound against a familiar foe. They came back home to Mennen Arena to skate against the Penguins, a team that they have beaten the previous 3 times they've faced them. Tonight would be no different. The home team put on a hockey clinic and did everything right as their consistent play sucked the life out of the Union, NJ based team. The scoring started just two minutes in with a goal from Brian Dixon. Just a minute later, Steve Genualdi cashed in on a nice feed from Matt Fullam on a 2 on 1 odd man rush. Corey DeFranco would finish off the scoring in the first period just 30 seconds later to make it 3-0 in the first period. Those three goals were scored within two minutes playing time. The second period would be more of the same. Dixon and DeFranco would put another in, assisted by Mike Postorino and Matt Daugherty respectively. Jay Sogliuzzo would put one in as would defenseman Jordan Tucci from the point. The score would end 7-0 as Eric Visnovsky needed only 7 saves for his 5th shutout of the season. Tyler Kelly stood strong for the Penguins making 40 saves in the losing effort.
