Game 42 vs. Montclair Blues
Game 42: 1/30/05 vs. Montclair Blues (W 7-1)
After the harsh reality of realizing that the Bears had handed the Colonials defeat, there was just one more game to finish off the league season. It was against the same team they started it against, the Montclair Blues. All the pressure was gone now and the Colonials played strong. They came out on fire and scored on the very first shift as Corey DeFranco put on a shot and Matt Daugherty picked up the rebound and into the open net. It would stay that way until late in the period when Mikey Lundberg would take a puck from Buzz Sobieski and was off on a breakaway. He hesitated to freeze the goalie and then threw it top shelf over his shoulder to go up 2-0. The second would be more of the same. Jordan Tucci worked the puck into the zone and gave it to Sobieski. Buzz made a quick move behind the net and put it in front of the net and basically deflected it off of Lundberg's stick and through the goalie's legs. The Blues would score one off a deflected shot but it wouldn't matter as the Colonials would just keep plugging away, controlling the entire game. Matt Fullam brought a puck in on a partial breakaway and backhanded a shot that would find its way through the goalie's arm and into the net. On the next play, Anthony Matarazzo saucered a pass over to Mike Postorino who tipped it in for his first of the game and then he would put home another one to give him two. Matarazzo would finish off the scoring by banging one home in front of the net and the Colonials would take it 7-1. Visnovsky finished with 18 saves and Postorino and Lunberg had two goals each. Sobieski finished with 3 assists. The Colonials finish the league 12-4-3, a very good season overall.
