Game 39 vs. Glaciers
Game 39: 1/16/05 vs. Glaciers (L 5-1)

In what turned out to be a wild game, the Colonials traveled to Face Off Circle in Eastern Pennsylvania for a non-league contest with the Glaciers. Due to illnesses and conflicts the Colonials only dressed 9 skaters and a goalie but still looked strong. They opened up the scoring in fact as Buzz Sobieski found Mikey Lundberg for a nice shot in front of the net that the goalie kicked out for a rebound but the puck made its way to Steve Genualdi's stick and he put it home for the 1-0 lead. The Colonials were hanging tough even without half the team there and dominated the first period. The home cooking of the referees would take over however and the visiting team were getting called for some questionable calls. It wasn't as if they were not guilty but the Glaciers seemed to making the same penalties with those going unnoticed. On top of that, the Glaciers goaltender was making some fantastic saves. Because of all that, the Glaciers would put in the next 5 unanswered goals to win the game 5-1. The kids that did show up put in a great effort and the opponent's goaltender put together an amazing performance of 47 saves to thwart the attack. The Colonials skate back into league play next Saturday on the road against the Bears.

Genualdi (Lundberg, Sobieski)

Geoff Durham: 21 saves (5 goals allowed)
