Game 31: 12/11/04 vs. Ice Vault Bandits (W 5-0)
The Colonials have been playing hot as of late, trying desperately to gain as many points as possible in league play in the quest for district playoffs. The Bandits came to town Saturday night for a game that didn't prove much of a challenge for the home team. The Colonials had already beaten the team from Wayne twice this year by the scores of 10-0 and 6-0. This game wasn't much different. The Bandits couldn't stay out of the box tonight and the Colonials made them pay as they put in 3 power play goals including the first of the game from team captain Mike Formichella. Jay Sogliuzzo found him on the point and the defenseman ripped a slap shot that found its way underneath the crossbar. The next one also came with an extra man as Nick Ferris kept a puck in the zone and gave it to Drew Perry who then found Brian Dixon in front of the net. Dixon fought his way through the defense for a few shots and one of them eventually went in. The second period was much of the same as Matt Daugherty brought the puck out from behind the net and found a wide open Matt Fullam and he buried it past Sam Morelli to put his team up 3-0. The home team would also receive goals from Corey DeFranco and Dave Magnollay in the third and the score would end 5-0 as the Bandits could only muster 6 shots against the tough defense. The Colonials improve to 8-2-3 in the league with the win.
