Game 30 vs. Hollydell Hurricanes
Game 30: 12/05/04 vs. Hollydell Hurricanes (W 2-1)
After a hard fought battle the night before the Colonials traveled down to Hollydell to face off against the Hurricanes. It was a long drive and most of the kids seemed lethargic after a tough game against the Generals. They would also be without defenseman/team captain Mike Formichella and forward Matt Fullam due to other game conflicts. On top of that Dave Magnollay would miss the game with a knee injury. Both teams seemed slow to start but the Colonials would jump out to the lead first as Brian Dixon worked the puck down low. He banked a shot off the goalie and Mikey Lundberg picked up the rebound and got just enough of it to put it over the goal line. The Hurricanes would come back in the game though as they put one in just 7 seconds into the power play that snuck past Eric Visnovsky. They would fire right back however with some great passing. Lundberg carried the puck in the zone and found Drew Perry, who immediately rifled a pass to Jay Sogliuzzo who was waiting in front of the net. The goaltender coudln't catch up and the puck was in the net before he could react. The Colonials were dominating the game doubling up on the Hurricanes in shots but couldn't seem to catch a break. The game would end at 2-1 as Visnovsky would end with 12 saves. The Colonials pick up an important 3 points this weekend as the league begins to wind down.
