Game 11 vs. Bandits
Game 11: 10/8/04 vs. Ice Vault Bandits (W 10-0)
After playing 4 tough games in a row the Colonials decided to have a little fun on Friday night. They faced off in their final non-league game against the Bandits at the Ice Vault in Wayne, NJ. It's a beautiful facility but still a young program. There were only 2 second year Bantams on their roster, whereas the Colonials are basically all second years. The Colonials jumped off to a quick lead as Dave Magnollay set up Mikey Lundberg, who finally broke the streak of not scoring since putting 3 in the net in the first game of the year. Corey DeFranco had a broken skate blade that was being repaired so Mike Postorino filled in nicely on his line and Drew Perry set him up for a goal. Magnollay would then set up assistant captain Justin Sobieski for a goal and it was 3-0 just that quick and the Colonials kept rolling. Matt Fullam began his playmaking night as he set up Brian Dixon for the next two goals. Perry banged home a goal after a huge mess of players in front of the net to make it 6-0, DeFranco returned and added another one, assisted by Fullam again, and defenseman Jackson Udelsman finally got on the scoreboard as he shot one from the point that deflected off someone in front of the net and in. From there on out Dixon and Steve Genualdi would add 2 more to end the game, with Ryan Cassidy collecting two assists on the last 3 goals. Fullam finished with 4 assists, Dixon with 3 goals and an assist, and basically everyone got in on the action as the Colonials mercy-ruled the Bandits 10-0. Eric Visnovsky only needed 4 saves for his first shutout of the season. This improves them to 5-4-2 as a final preseason record and their first league game is Sunday afternoon at Mennen against the Montclair Blues.
