Maiser was a young, but brilliant engineer in service of the OZ military. He was the one who repaired Wing Gundam on Antarctica so Milliardo Peacecraft and Heero Yuy could finish their duel. After the Eve Wars Maiser continued his job as engineer, but he eventually lost his job because Romefeller had plans to greatly mechanize the company where he worked.
In the year AC 198 Khushrenada13 offered him to join the Khushrenada Corps. Maiser accepted this offer because he would get his job back this way and because he always had been a great supporter of Treize Khushrenada. Thanks to his mechanical skills he became the chief engineer of the Corps and helped develop a new type of mobile suit, plus several new weapons and technologies.
