Description: Colonel Kelly is the commanding officer of the Sea Bandits and the ACE of the 18th MEU.
Kelly is known for his no-nonsense, get things done style of command,
but also for being a man of great compassion, especially
for those under his command. The Colonel has extensive
flight experience, flying missions in both Vietnam and
the Persian Gulf War, and is a very talented fighter
pilot. Kelly also commanded the Sea Dragons, and the
VMFAT-107 Nugget training squadron from which Spoon and
Ice graduated.
Kelly's personal life is less well-organized than his
military life, however. His wife died during his time in
the Corps, leaving behind their daughter Janine. Though
Kelly tried to be a good father, his commitment to the
Marines often interfered with his duties to his daughter.
Only recently have Kelly and Janine attempted to
reconcile their relationship. His romantic life is even
more complicated, making him guard his emotions very
closely to avoid being hurt. However, he truly does love
Kate, though he may not always show it. Overall, Colonel
Kelly is an excellent commander, much beloved by his unit.
