Connections+ 4 Union F.C. 4

Union F.C. continued their promising start to the season at Trawden, coming from behind no less than four times to claim a point and remain unbeaten.

Morris Dancers 3 Union F.C. 0

A poor performance at Trawden Rec. saw Union F.C. slip to their first defeat of the season. Although it was still 0-0 at half time, Union had shown little sign of scoring, and when the home side went one up midway through the second half, there was no way back for the Union. Morris Dancers needed a little luck for the opener, but once they were in front they maintained the pressure, and consolidated their lead. Union have a lot of work to do before a tricky away tie next week at Swinden.

Bull F.C. 3 Union F.C. 8

Union F.C. responded to last weeks disappointment in resounding fashion at Swinden in what, on paper at least, looked a particularly tricky match. Both teams have started the season well, and the first half was an even contest. Bull F.C. went one up after half an hour, but the captain Mark Brozozowski levelled the match within minutes, through a great counter attacking move. At the start of the second half, Union went in front through Scott Unthank, and from there they never looked back. Alan Unthank added a third from the penalty spot, and Sean French bossed the game in the midfield. Union kept pushing forward, and in the well rewarded hunt for more goals did leave a few gaps at the back, but the final score of 8-3 certainly helped erase some painful memories of last season.

Two out of two for Union's best ever finish.

Union F.C. won the last two games of the season to move up to eighth place in Division One. A comfortable 2-0 win over T.S.B. at Holt house saw them guaranteed at worst a ninth place finish, before an 85th minute strike from Kieron Southworth beat Pendle Forest 2-1. This meant Union moved above Paak B who lost 5-0 to Sacred Heart.
The two wins were a fitting finish to the season which finally saw Union F.C. finish out of the basement, not to mention their appearence in the Rotary Cup semi-final.

Sacred Heart take title

The First Division title was secured on a thrilling last night of action in the Pendle Charity league. With three games played simultaneously at Holt House, Sacred Heart need to win to guarantee their title and promotion. In the end, they won comfortably, beating Paak B 5-0 whilst Athletic only managed a draw against an improving T.S.B. side. In the other game, Union F.C. came from a goal behind against Pendle Forest to win 2-1, with the winner coming just five minutes from time.
It is worth noting that Union F.C. are the only team to have taken points off the new champions since christmas, with a 2-2 draw at Holt House in February.
