A young man left home to be on his own. His
mother tearfully said good-bye to him and gave him a Bible with
the admonition that if he read it every day, it would keep him strong. After a time, when things had not gone well for the young man and he had run out of money, he returned home. His mother asked him if he had read his Bible while he was gone. He confessed that he had not. "Son, if you had read your Bible, you would not have been hungry." She opened up to Psalm 23, and there was a $20 bill. She turned to John 3, and there was a $10 bill. She had placed money throughout the book. If only he had read his Bible... That was only money but there are real "hidden treasures" waiting for us all in God's treasured Word.
