You Gotta Have Faith, But ...
The sheriff's patrol came by the Believer's home and told him he would have to evacuate due to impending flood conditions. The man said, "I'm not leaving. God will take care of me."
The water began to rise and the man moved to the second floor. A man came by in a boat and tried to get the Homeowner in the boat, and off to safety. "God will take care of me," the man replied.
As the water continued to rise, the man moved to the roof, whereupon a helicopter dropped a rope ladder to him. Still the man refused, "God will take care of me!"
Eventually the man was washed away and drowned. Upon arrival at the pearly gates, he remarked "God, I can't believe you let me drown. I have spent my entire life living by the gospel, and this is how I get rewarded?" God replied, "Well, I sent you a Sheriff, I sent you a boat. ..."

I would be quiet, Lord, and rest content,
By grace I would not pine, nor would I fret;
With You to guide and care, my joy be this:
Not one small need of mine will You forget! --HGB

But without faith it is impossible to please Him.
