EXECUTIVE MEETING

EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS

The meeting was called to order by President Lawreen Barber at 7:35 pm.
Minutes of general meeting on May 08, 2005 have been circulated. Lawreen
moved the minutes be adopted as circulated. Seconded by Tara-Lee Doyle-Voyce. Carried.
Treasurer 's Report
The bottle drive fundraiser was a success $ 282.60 was raised. 47 homes were
collected from and a total of 85 adults are members of our new Community
League.
A big thank-you goes out to Dave Malkewich for supplying the truck.
Thank-you to EVERYONE for the contribution of their time and the bottle
donations.
A community non-profit organization account will be established for the
community league. Three signing authorities will be needed. The Royal Bank
will be the Bank that will house the account. The three signing authorities are Lisa Malkewich, Corinne Fletcher, and Tara-lee Doyle-Voyce.
Motion to be adopted on the three signing authorities by Lawreen Barber,
seconded by Dave Malkewich, all in favor, decided.
An expense account will be created by Corinne Fletcher [Treasurer]. All
receipts, petty cash, and a log will stay with Corinne. She will be
responsible to keep accurate records. Lawreen moves that this motion be
adopted into the record, Jennifer Wall seconded the motion, carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Corinne Fletcher announced the winner of the Kids Contest to decide the new
society's name. Corinne and her husband read aloud the entries, omitting
the children's names. The decision was unbiased and based on the actual
entry.
The winner of the kids contest is Brianna Kolybaba with her entry of
?Community In Collingwood League?. Brianna will receive a $ 25.00 gift
certificate from Wal-Mart. Thank-you to all the children who submitted their
entries; there were 14 entries in total. A vote was conducted 4 in favor 2
were against, decided. The New Society's name is Community in Collingwood League. A photo will be taken of Brianna and put on the Web Site as well as a poster announcing the new name will be posted by Jennifer Wall. Lawreen Barber will be writing a letter to thank Wal-Mart for their generosity.
New Business
Randy Barber has volunteered his time and expertise to create our web site
for the community league the web address is: www.geocities.com/collingwoodcove
Lawreen has put forth a motion that Randy Barber be nominated as a Director
and a member of our board. Motion to be adopted. Seconded by Corinne
Fletcher. Carried.
By-Laws were discussed and changes were amended for more info refer to the
By-Laws section.
Changes have been made to the community board members. Wanda Stewart has
withdrawn her position as Auditor. Jan Yake has been nominated to take her
place, the motion has been adopted that Jan Yake be a member of the
community league as an Auditor. Seconded by Lisa Malkewich, majority in
favor, decided.
Allied Newspapers will be contacted by Jennifer Wall to inquire about
receiving recycling containers to recycle newspapers. This would be a way
to generate money for the community league. Decision to call the County of
Strathcona to find out where we would be able to put the recycling
containers. Lawreen will find out the information will be discussed at next
meeting.
Discussion of family fun day and thank-you barbeque has been introduced. There
will be a barbeque and family fun day organized as a thank-you to community
members.
Planning meeting will be on June 04, 2005 at 9:30 am. Planning will take
place and date of BBQ will be decided. More information to come.
A motion has been introduced by Jennifer Wall that the location of the
Executive Meetings rotate between board members. Seconded by Lisa Malkewich,
Carried.
The next Executive meeting will be August 30, 2005 at 7:00 pm. Hostess
Jennifer Wall.
