MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY Lawreen Barber at 7:15 pm.
Opening Introductions: Everyone in attendance introduced themselves.
AGENDA
Lawreen Barber and Lisa Malkewich introduced the MISSION STATEMENT. They
proceeded to outline what the New Society's main focus would be. The Society's mission is to implement, organize and provide activities for the community of Collingwood Cove.
We are not a society that wishes to deal with political issues such as speed
bumps, fire hydrants, or streetlights etc.
OLD BUSINESS
Discussion concerning the former Collingwood Cove Association that was
formed in 1978 to 2000. We as a Society do not wish to be affiliated with
the former Association. The former committee members will not be in
attendance or participate to form the new society?s elected committee
members.
NEW BUSINESS
The Custody and use of the Seal for the New Society
1. Do we need to have an official seal?
What would the cost of the seal be/ and what official documents require a
seal?
A rubber stamp was decided to be used on formal documentation that is
required by Corporate Registries and By-Law Officials.
2. The New Society's Official Name
A kids contest was suggested to give our Society a name. A winner will be
selected and a prize will be given for the best suggestion.
"Lawreen Barber moves that a vote will be conducted."
2nd by Lisa Malkewich, acclimation decided.
3. Bottle drive was suggested as a fundraiser for the new society.
Final vote has not been conducted.
Community members were asked to volunteer to form the new executive committee,
volunteers were put forth
" Lawreen Barber moves that the community members be voted in as official
members of the new society."
2nd Dave Malkewich, Acclimation Decided.
The new society's committee members are as follows:

ALL COMMITTEE MEMBERS MUST BE IN ATTENDENCE AT ALL EXECUTIVE MEETINGS.
The first Executive meeting has been scheduled for Monday May 30 at 7:30 pm.
Motion to adjourn the general meeting made by Lawreen Barber at 8:30 pm.
