WHEN WE WON THE LEAGUE
2003-04
Matt Sweeney's brace got us off to the start we were looking for with a 3-0 win over Racing Club Mercedes. A win the following week against title favourites Lion Flooring made all the local press stand up and take note of a new tiltle contender emerging from the mist of Curtlee Hill.
Defeat in the League Cup the following week against Lion and in the league away at rivals Roade, gave the Tree the kick up the backside they needed, as they went on an unbeaten run up and until after Christmas.

Manager Simon Newman is drenched in champagne as the celebrations begun
no time in racing past Pete Bashams existing goalscoring record of 16. Scott Eason and Gerome O'Rourke were banging the goals in too, and with Dove, Haynes and Gareth Davies forming a formidable back three, teams were finding it hard to break through the Tree Defence.
Keeper Kris Lines had previousley been unable to keep a clean sheet on a sunday morning, but His heroics between the posts were later rewarded when he was voted Player of the Year by manager Simon Newman.
The Title was going to be decided in April as Tree prepared for a two horse race with Bookies favourites Lion Flooring.
The two teams met at Spencer on March 31st, and if this was a taste of things to come, then the bookies got it wrong, as a Forrest and Sweeney double and singles from Fleury and Thompson gave the Tree a 6-1 victory that spurred them on for the busy April month.
Captain Matt Sweeney recieves the Division 4 trophy
With a Draw against Roade, and the Victory against Travis Perkins, Collingtree needed just a draw against Longboat to secure the tilte, and with Score at 2-3, Top Goalscrorer Jamie Forrest tucked a penalty away to secure his 46th of the season and the illusive Division 4 Title for the Collingtree Rangers.

Gary Haynes was voted Players Player of the year at the end of season awards ceromony and Simon Newman was quick to praise all the players for a season well done. "We deserved it, and we won it. All the lads have been brilliant this season, and we couldn't have asked for anymore, I'm over the moon!"
