My name is Elisabeth Johnston and I live in Janesville, Wisconsin. I am 18 years old and a senior in high school. I have been fascinated with collies my entire life. I have dreamt of showing them since I was five years old. I got my first collie, Mistic, in February of 1998 for my twelveth birthday. I tried to show Mistic in Juniors but he didn't like it at all. I was talking with a collie friend of mine at the Wheaton Kennel Club show in June of 2000. She recommended that I try to find a finished champion to take on for the junior ring. This is how I found Rolex. [A special thankyou to everyone who offered a dog to me.] Rolex has tought me a lot about the sport of dogs. In October of 2002 it was time for Rolex to retire and Don and Leslie Jeszewski were kind enough to give me Denver. Since I started showing Denver my entire junior handling career turned upside down. I reached so many of my goals that I had given up on in just my first year with Denver. Now, aged out of junior showmanship, I hope to continue showing in conformation. I will be showing a select number of client dogs and Denver in specials when I can. Outside of dog shows I enjoy painting and drawinf as well as photography- mostly of dogs. I am also involved in many school clubs including National Art Honors Society and Human Relations. I am an active member of the janesville-Beloit Kennel Club and volunteer at the humane society in my spare time. I am employed as a Senior Portrait photographer at K. A. Piehl and Associates fine photography in Janesville. I hope to attend UW Whitewater or Rock County in the fall. |
