College of Charleston

Stern Center In all my life I never had such a great time as my year studying at the College of Charleston. I believe I learned more about my major subject than anywhere else but I also believe that I learned more about life itself. For example you may be very intelligent and yet do the most stupid things. The best thing about the United States, I think, is that so many different cultures live next to each other. Compared to the very homogeneous society in Germany, this was a very good experience. My friends at the college were very different, the were black, Asian, Latin American, Dutch, white American, and a few others. The picture to the left is the Stern Center with a swimming pool, food court, mail boxes, club rooms, etc.
The College is a very nice place to study. You live among the historic houses of Charleston and every day you pass through a green campus. This (on the right) is part of my daily walk. To the right you can see the Science building with a large auditorium. I only listened to a lecture there. Most of my classes were in the Maybank building, which is across from the library. The library may be the place were I spend most of my time. It was great to study but also to meet people, which is a reason for which I will never forget this place. If only memories would not fade and time not pass so fast! Physics
