Review of Episode 1 for Season 2

What do say about the opener for season 2? First impact, Anger, Sadness, Unbelievable denial, and outright upsets.

As I sat and watched it again. I see everything a little more clearly. Therefore, I will start with the end of Season one Devils trap, the transport driver slamming into the beloved Impala. Sam, Dean and John hurt and the feeling that not everything is going to be ok, then they leave it in the balance to enter into season 2. An impact for months to come will be left on us.

The opening scene, the heart-wrenching yell for the conscious Sam Tell me if they are ok! Are they even alive? It just makes you want to take that boy and wrap him in so much love and shelter him from all that pain.

We see Dean wandering around looking for his brother and John, he finds himself. The look on his face was just a mixture of emotions. He wonders whats going on, we know that for sure. Then theres Sam, looking like crap yelling at John trying to get his frustrations out, meanwhile we see Dean trying to stop both John and Sam from fighting and whoa he pulls a ghost. Even in that situation you couldnt do anything but laugh a little because we all know Dean has his snarky moments to lighten any mood, It makes you forget for a minute or two the seriousness of the situation they find themselves in.

The reaper, good old death! We all know death comes to those that are about to die. What a nice twist for the reaper to take human form, a pretty woman who has excepted death, but then Dean turns around and says you have to fight, stay as long as you can until you figure out how to get back in your body. Now that is the true Dean deep down. Hes a fighter and always will be. Therefore, what do we have, Dean in Ghost form unwilling to let that battle go. The reaper having no recourse but to wait for Dean to realize whom she is.

Then the little Oujia board, it was cute and sad at the same time. Sam more then anything wanting to make sure Dean was around and Dean feeling like he was at a slumber party We see that brotherly moment that we always see. I hope we continue to see more.

That scene provides at least to me a little more insight on the brothers. They both knew that what they were saying to each other was just more then just Sam finding out that the reaper was after Dean. They were showing their love for each other, you could just see it in the way they looked at each other even though they could see each other.

John Winchester, the father that many think was too hard on the boys the way he made them grow up maybe even before their time. He chose that lifestyle after losing Mary and Man I would have been right there with him the whole time. We see a side to him that just put a completely new perspective on him. We see that he knew exactly what he was going to do.

He bargained the colt and something more. It just makes you want to shake the daylights out of him. You do realize though that he is doing it for Dean and calmness settles over you knowing that he would stop at nothing to keep his boys alive. Even to the cost of something greater then even him. Now if that is not a father then I do not know what one is.

Finally, Dean knows the reaper and has a chat with her, he realizes that hey, the reaper wants me but I dont want to go. He tells her no way man, I am not leaving, I have to stay for my family. The reaper has to go and break his heart and yet it makes Dean realize that he has to make a choice and if he stays, he will become the very thing he hunts. You know hes so torn between that choice. He wants to protect his family and yet he does not want to become an angry ghost. It leaves a taste in your mouth of bitterness. You think Damn Its not right; here is this Man, who has known nothing but hunting and protecting those around him, always letting his feelings go to the back burner, stepping up like a true solider. Yet hes left knowing that he only has one choice and he doesnt want make that choice.

Demon-mania, John you fool, didnt you know that striking a deal with any demon no matter how harmless they appear they always have a catch. Yes of course he did. Mister Demon knew it too. So he made darn sure that John had to make a huge deal just to save Dean.

We knew something was up the reaper telling the demon he cant do this. Now it makes me wonder, if things were meant to be like that. You know the everything happens for a reason deal. Now Dean is alive, he has no memory of what happened. Sam relieved that Dean is all right.

John coming in and asking Sam, can we not fight anymore? Youre like, ok John would never say something like that to Sam, and he would argue more with him. You know something is about to happen. He tells Sam to get his old man a coffee. Sam surprised doesnt even question the motive behind it he just does it. Dean knowing his father waited and he was right, John had something to say to him as well.

That scene was the most gut-wrenching thing I think any of us had to watch. John finally telling Dean he loved him that he was proud of him. Then the whisper to Dean and the look on Deans face. We have no clue what was said. Be the look on Deans face tells a little something, shock.

Damn you John, you cannot be dead, there is no way. You had to have a plan for one reason or another through this episode. How could you do that to Sam, at least Dean knows that his father loved him, but what about Sam. Didnt he have the right as the youngest to hear something like that from John once again? I think he did. But in reality Dean needed to hear it more then Sam at that point.

Season 2 came in with a bang and left many people in different states of mind. It makes everyone look forward to the next episode. We are all waiting to see what will be the development this year. I think we are in for one heck of a ride...
