Post Op Journal,
               Let the Journey Begin...

June 17, 2002 - (Monday)
Am I boring or what?  I really have absolutely nothing to report on.  Life is getting better and better and I am thrilled with every new day.  I'm not saying there isn't a down day every now and then, hey, believe me, my life is far from perfect.  But, overall, my weight is just not something I'm getting depressed about any longer.  I realize I have approximately 50 pounds MORE to lose, but I know that if I keep the faith and continue following the guidelines I've been given and exercise, I can achieve my goals.  It's just amazing that I can, one day, achieve a NORMAL weight.  It's just a miracle!!!  I just can't wait to "see" it actually happen.  Ugh, patience my dear, patience!!!

On the exercise front, yea for me, I exercised every day last week, except Saturday.  I started this week again, so far Sunday and Monday and will continue each day with Curves thrown in 3x a week.  I hope, when the weather cooperates at the beach, to be able to ride my bike on the weekends.  I'm glad to FINALLY get my butt in gear and start exercising, let's hope it becomes addicting, like it was a few years ago.

Eating wise, I have become a pretty good eater, not throwing up at all any more.  Breads and fats still not good for me (thank goodness) and I'm getting more and more protein in.  See, everything I've read about said it gets easier as the months go along and sure enough, it really does.  I just am so happy that I had the surgery, I really am just so pleased with how things are going!!!  Well, that's all for now, this week, I'll continue on the exercise track and hopefully the weight loss will follow.  Will update when there is something to report!    Ok all,
till next time ..

June 20, 2002 - (Thursday)
All is fine, week is almost over and I'm taking tomorrow off on vacation.  I am going to drag my laptop with me for my weekend at the beach, lots of things hanging over a proposal I'm helping to submit, so I might work afterall tomorrow, however it will be from the shore!!  At least the view will be nice!  I'm down 2 more pounds to 95.5 and that makes me happy!!! Only 4.5 more pounds to make that 100 pound MILESTONE!!  I really cannot wait to attain my first goal.  I know some people set goals at various stages, but mine has always been --- get 100 pounds OFF -- and then it's 10 pound increments after that.  I feel that 100 pounds off is such an amazing number....everything after that is like icing on the cake (even though I'm hoping for 50 MORE pounds of icing after the 100 -- LOL)!!!  I am proud of myself and I can't wait to celebrate the 100 pound victory!!!  I have been very very good with the walking/exercise lately and am really happy with myself on that front.  I do feel like I'm walking faster and easier and going further each time I walk for the 30 mins.  I read several journals where the women are doing such amazing things with exercise and they truly inspire me (thanks Carrie and Stephani).  I have been enviously watching their progress and saying, "I really should be doing what they are doing", but I hadn't been.  Well for the past few weeks, I met that exercise goal and I'm so happy!! It was just something I knew I had to do but I wasn't doing it.  So finally I'm off the stick and walking to my Friends tapes again.  Not sure what I'm going to do when I get tired of watching the same shows but for now, they are OK.

I've had odd things happen lately at dinner.  When I've eaten out lately, I cannot really eat a lot.  One day, I had eaten 1/2+ a hamburger and now I'm only able to eat MAYBE a 1/3 of it.  I know it does vary from day to day how much I can consume, but now it's really limited.  I'm still able to eat approximately 2/3 of a small Wendy's chili/cheese and also (1) Crunchy Taco Supreme from Taco Bell, so that's good.  Not sure why I'm mentioning this, but boy, the capacity of the stomach sure varies from day to day.  Sheesh!!

Oh well, not much else happening, will update maybe on Sunday when I come home from the beach,
until next time...

June 24, 2002 - (Monday)
Well, what a nice weekend.  The weather couldn't have been nicer, sat out in the sun quite a bit and got some nice color.  Had hit some traffic yesterday  coming home, but in the summer months, it takes at least 2.5 to 3 hours to get home on a Sunday, no matter what time you start back home.  It was all worth it, got home by 9:00, unpacked and got all set up for work today.  Didn't eat that well all weekend, weight has remained the same since last Thursday, I'm down 95.5 pounds.  Oh well, can't stress over it, will get back on the stick today.  I did have a great dinner last night, it was Shrimp Scampi and ate 5 of the 6 shrimp that comes with the dinner.  It was delish!!  Nothing else doing, all dressed to go walk on the treadmill at lunchtime and will possibly go to Curves tonight after 4:00.  Will post again another day during the week...just wanted to drop a note to say all is well, until next time all..
